Apatheistic, misanthropic, nihilistic, amoral, antinatalistic, pro-abortionist, pro-cannibal! I don't play games properly and never get ♥♥♥♥ done (look at all my half-finished games, ehehe)! I love cockroaches and I don't like regular people (generally). Basically, I'm a massive asocial turd :)

My favourite thing in the world is Terra Formars :Grineer:

If you really love to just chill and listen to your music, then go get an mp3 device, record player... or something like that.
If you really love to just chill and listen to your music whilst zoning out at colourful stuff on your computer screen and minimally tapping keys and moving your mouse, then perhaps you could buy this game and play it. I did that second option and I don't regret doing so.

This game is especially great when I'm not sure what kind of mood I'm in and just need to pass time until I pass out... or develop a yearning for another activity. I usually end up passing out at some point anyway, so why not now? The best metaphor I can provide about the 'feel' of this game is: a moth heading toward the light. It doesn't quite know what it is doing or why, but it's still gonna go and do the thing while perhaps also smashing into a few cars along the way. Btw, Iron Mode is true moth mode and serves my metaphor a lot better. I love Iron Mode. It's the closest thing in the game to hyper-speed in certain Guitar Hero games. Things are more intense and you can end up failing if you make too many mistakes too quickly. I've also gone ahead and used music editing software to speed up the slower songs to make Iron Mode more relevant. So long as you provide any audio track with the appropriate file extensions, the software will import it and you should swiftly be able to bump and groove to that sound recording of a lone cricket in the desolate fields that you insistently adhere to like it's sugar for your tympanic membrane or something. Ahem. Don't look at me like that.

In most cases, the intensity of the music track complimentarily affects the intensity of the interactive game (e.g. cars appear with increased frequency and the game-track has more grooves and bends). You'll notice the differences between, say, a 300 year old classical baroque compilation and a more modern power-metal track. You can also meddle around a bit with the graphics if you are suddenly curious about poking at your epileptic capacity or sensitivity to intense chromatic experiences. I turned all the trippy stuff up and had a magical experience (with no regard to drug use). I'm pretty sure I didn't dream that part up, either. There are several choices among game modes which affect the style of play and the objectives (seperate from Iron Mode) - for instance, you can pick a style where you have to dodge the cars. I think there's another style where you try to accumulate as much of the same colour cars by hitting them, I think...? It's been a long time since I ventured outside of my comfort zones.

I don't know if this is a testament to the success and sum enjoyment of this marvellous game, but at the time of writing this review, I had accummulated approximately 68 hrs of Audiosurf gameplay. However, I was probably only conscious for about 33% of that total time, and had my head planted face-first on my desk for the other 66% (hey, I have insomnia and I'll take anything that helps me sleep, ehehehe)! But the time spent consciously playing is total bliss when you dig through your ancient music library and find the weird stuff you used to listen to - and the weird stuff you silly suckers still listen to, too!

I rate this game a 0.863/0.909 because I can. That's a pretty high score. I choose to use small numbers because I'm a nihilist and therefore the value of everything is relatively insignificant! I'm also very sleep deprived :D
Also, it misses out on a perfect score only because it occassionally fails to load certain tracks at random times. But there's ways to get around that. Nothing in the game is too tedious other than your choice of song, or the insanely elaborate file pathways you have to traverse just to find that piece of noise that you're looking for. Now, excuse me while I go dig deep into my files and folders seeking my arthropology lectures for some of that juicy sonata made of blattodean ovipositors positing ovum inside oven crevices!
