GOAT game becomes Ultra-GOAT with mods.

It's a fun game. Sure, it has it's flaws but it's better than most of the slop released in the MP FPS genre as of late.

I'm a bigger fan of Ys origin than oath however, this game is also super nice in the same regards. It's the Ys origin gameplay loop but the story and setting fit more with the traditional ys games. I'd also recommend this game tho.

Although the game is different in all but franchise name. My sentiment towards Ys Origin is the same as the very first two Ys games (excluding the confusing navigation). It's a great, short old school action game with an amazing sound track and a serviceable story. I always have a soft spot for games which take place in one big structure which you have to ascend but don't get it twisted. Just because the game has one set piece and location doesn't mean the environments or monster variety is boring. Falcom managed to make the tower feel fresh on every floor in terms of environment and game-play whilst still keeping it grounded too by giving subtle ques to remind you that it is still a tower which keeps the environment from being too far fetched. The bosses are the main highlight of this game. All of them are super unique and somehow every boss despite being mostly gimmick bosses, are successfully implemented which is a very hard feat to achieve (for an unsuccessful implementation, refer to the dark souls series and their mostly clunky and poorly made gimmick bosses such as the bed of chaos still love Dark souls though). I'd endorse this game to anyone who enjoys good action games.

Ys 1 & 2 are both amazing little old-school action games which hold up to today's standards in every regard. Furthermore, the fact that both can be completed within 14 hours total (the first game is very short whilst the second is a bit longer) meaning that it's perfect for anyone who wants a fulfilling adventure but may not be willing to drop tens of hours into one game with padded out sections (which is sadly becoming more of a trend with modern games). I'd like to give a special mention to the amazing OST which although may be over the top sometimes is a joy to listen to and the comfy art-style. If you're willing to give the game a shot (which i do endorse) just be wary that the game can be a maze within it's levels and objectives may not be clear.

(wario land 4 was the first game I've ever played and this being a spiritual successor to that makes me COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM)
