Prior to the 1.0 update I would 100% recommend this game. It was a very engaging and fun tactical shooter, with superb attention to detail.
However.
As of 1.0 the game has been littered with AI-Generated assets. Most notably the mission 23 Megabytes A Second features numerous posters that are egregiously AI-Gen'd. Horrible anatomy, illegible text, generic "anime" style, etc etc. As well, the mission briefings and subtitles are full of such outrageous spelling and grammar errors no human would ever let pass. Even the most common stated lines you hear dozens of times a mission are just... wrong.

Prior to 1.0 as well there was no such use of AI assets. I did not pay $50 for this AI slop when I originally bought this in early access. This is an utter rug pull and this change was not at all advertised or disclosed in any way. I cannot in good faith recommend the game in this state.

(AI slop is usually against Steam TOS anyway so yeah)

It's the Dead Space you know and love, but given a very nice contemporary tune-up. Performance is also surprisingly good for a PC release this day and age too. 9/10 would dead in space again.

The only scary part of this game is the poor performance and poor gameplay.

Seems to have potential with what it wants to do, but needed a LOT more time in the oven before it should have been put in Early Access. Lots of bugs, incomplete features, and a pretty thick crust to it overall. (But hey, it has jiggle physics at least.)

I've had countless hours of fun playing this game late into the night with my friends. That said, in the year this game's been out, it's become increasingly clear that Bluehole's focus has been to crank as much money out of this game as possible, as opposed to fixing and improving on the game's base content. For a thirty dollar game to have paid lootboxes and a "battlepass" for progression is absolutely digusting. Not to mention them going after Fortnite and Epic Games for "copying" them, while quickly copying some of the very same things Fortnite has done first (not to say Fornite invented emotes, the battlepass thing, etc, but if Fortnite did not impletment these, I doubt PBUG would have them now). And to do all this while avoiding improving upon the games stability and playability is laughable. All in all, stay far far away from this train wreck, unless you don't mind playing a buggy and laggy, cheated filled hellhole.
