I am a coming back player that initially played this game 2 years ago a few months after release.
I have to say that after grinding the first 30 levels i left the game due to lack of group / got bored of the levelling mechanics that were in place at launch.
Having tried to comeback once more i found the story line so much better and smoother all way to level 60, with just a few hiccups around 40-45 due to the confusion on where i should progress next.
At endgame start it was very confusing as the game doesn't really explain what's the whole system behind gypsum and gearing (wards / bane), but with the help of a good company you can get around this problem fairly easily.

Dungeons are the best thing in this game, are so enjoyable and fun especially on first clears (when you do not have a micromanaging nw handy on your party), but i can still see some improvement especially on specific bosses like Cilla and Chardis which are just big punch boxes. On my opinion they would be way more fun with a third less hp and more wipe mechanics.
I've recently started the Mutations, a main problem that you don't really encounter doing regular dungeons is the lack of players and slowness to put up a lobby, on my opinion they would be much better just having 4 mutations, one for each difficulty.

Gathering in this game is quite enjoyable and easy, i really liked the fact that as you are levelling the gathering skill you can see the mineral / plant that you will be able to gather at a certain level giving you a sense of goal for the future. Crafting on the other end seems a bit cranky, i found myself having to craft over and over the same item just to level up crafting just for then salvage the items, in my opinion you should get way more xp from higher quality items which might be useful to you and other players.

Gearing it's quite confusing in the beginning also because you'll need quite a lot of different types of gear for each dungeon ward, also you get way too many item drops, and every time you finish a dungeon or a chestrun you gotta spend 5 minutes sorting what's good and what's not. I'm of the idea that you should get way less items but most of the items you drop in a dungeon should be tradable and not "Bind on Pickup".

Overall i'm very happy with the game and the progress they have made in the past few years, i look forward to see what's next :)
