I enjoy an RPG with a thought-provoking ending, that actually makes you second guess your decisions throughout the game.

The lore and combat for this game is great. Companions were alright, would've liked more interactions with them on decisions and simple side missions too. I do also wish there were just a few more opportunities to train side skills like Computers, Electronics, Lockpick, etc. Some items are simply not available by the end of the game, being locked behind lvl. 10 skill checks. By the end of the game most of my skills were from 7-9 amongst my party and I could not get them to sufficient levels, unfortunately.

All and all, though, I played through this game twice, so that should say something to my opinion of it. Worth full price.

Early Access Review
I don't know to mod games, but I will learn how to mod it if I can't have my polyamorous relationship with Gale and Halsin

Whatever my options, 9.5/10

I think Expeditions: Rome does alright.

Pros
Most of the companions interest me. The side characters as well.
Battle system is very fun, and the use of tactical items are particularly enjoyable and add thrill to the missions.
The dialogue options give the player a lot to do to roleplay a character that they have in their mind. Unlike other games, you are not punished in an unspoken way for being the bad guy (most of the time).
The primary antagonist is a snake, and the story makes you relish to kill them every time you encounter them. Good to see, as many games' villains are not very well fleshed out and are just there to make the story resemble a plot.

Neutral
The war system. I don't feel very involved in the process of the battles for cities and landmarks. Pick a card. This does this. This'll make you lose more than the others will. But, this game is mostly an isometric RPG so it doesn't really add or detract from the experience.

Cons
Romances are a bit underwhelming imo.
Pacification missions. If I never see a bunch of weapon shipments that I have to burn again I will die a happy man.
Random encounters, specifically the ones with battles, are obnoxious and don't add much to the game. Having simple text-based encounters were enjoyable enough and helped with immersion.

8.5/10

This will probably go down in history as the game I've done the most Google searches for in my life.

All and all, it's one of the best cRPGs I have ever played. Thank you, Owlcat.

This game was amazing for a lot of reasons: the characters, the high-seas setting (and all the individual islands with their individual stories on that high sea), the combat both in-person and on the water, the choose-your-own-adventure/D&D-esque mini encounters you'll face when exploring the world map. I particularly enjoyed how The Watcher could actually witness the gods in a tangible form, listen to them debate and watch their personalities manifest.
But the best part had to be choosing a side. The way Obsidian wrote each faction actually had me sitting in front of my computer for a couple hours trying to decide which horse to bet on. I hadn't ever struggled to make a choice this intensely in a video game before. Not in Divinity: Original Sin 2, or Planescape: Torment, or any of the BioWare games. One had the moral high ground (or seemed to, anyway), while a couple sides provided legitimate reasons for their actions, and one was just outrageously fun to play. But at the same time, each of them had a dark side too. A follower could potentially leave if you acted against their people, and it would be harder to choose that side if you enjoyed that character or even relied on their presence in combat.
POE 2 is likely one of my favorite games, and it is better than its predecessor. It was truly a treat to play and I highly recommend it, DLC and all.
Just whatever you do, avoid the island with the godforsaken arena.

Have you seen some negative reviews for this game? Give them some leeway. There's flaws in this game, no lie.
But it's also one of the best space strategy games out there, and the conversion mods are diverse and thorough. Also if you have 300 hours to kill I don't know what you're doing still reading this.
