Already a fun and addictive game as is. If the devs manage to implement everything they have planned out on the roadmap with the same quality as the current content, this might become the perfect game.

It is a good standalone game. Sadly, it severely lacks as a sequel.

I feel as if this game does everything the first game did well on exactly the same level without expanding on them. The elements that are new do not meet the level of what makes this game charming.

The amount of vehicles has been reduced for a more modular approach, which does not let you experience the scale of piloting something large. The amount of large predators has been reduced. The size of the map has been reduced (although it is more packed with content). In general, the vastness of the first game has been reduced, which I genuinly don't get, as it was their strong suit.

The game has extended from sea to land. The land section of the game were, in my oppinion, gameplay wise annoying. On land I wished I was back in the water. Mainly due to the land vehicle just not feeling nice or fun to control.

I was also surprised to see that my biggest problem with the first game (which I loved) was not at all fixed in this game. The fact that a lot of the equipment and gameplay features is redundant. There is no need for a good chunk of the content to be used, which halts any feeling of progression.

The story was OK, the gameplay was a little smoother, and the general surroundings and design were more beautifull than ever. I just wished they would have gone bigger with what they already has. Bigger fish, bigger tech, more fear, and more awe.

In short, if you have played the first game, this game has nothing new to offer that wasn't already there. What is new has not managed to reach the same level.

I still hope to see a part 3.
