An absolute gem of a game. Must have for any fans of hard FPS/survival games. In my humble opinion, best shooter since HL2.

Get the game then download the "Complete" mod. Improves visuals and other things while leaving most of the gameplay intact.

This game deserves far more praise than it received from major reviewers. Must have for any fan of the stealth genre. The story is surprisingly good but the best part of the game is in the level design. The special skills are fun without being overpowering. Getting discovered will usually end badly so you'll need to either sneak through unseed or ambush guards. When discovered, running away is usually a much wiser choice than engaging in hand to hand fights. In my book, that's a big plus but some people seem upset that they can't lay waste to the whole castle when guards find them.

Fantastic work by independent developers. You can download the free mod version of this game and pay nothing but I feel like people that have worked on this for years and years deserve my money. Multiplayer brings back great memories of HL LAN parties. Single player is superb as well!

An excellent port of a timeless classic. If you somehow missed playing RE4 and you're at all interested in survival horror - this is a masterpiece that you need to pick up. If you've played RE4 before and you're wondering whether the HD remake for PC is well done - it absolutely is a faithful recreation of the original with better graphics, what's not to like.

10 years later, this is still the best FPS that's ever been made. Even in late 2013, I'd rather play through HL2 again than any shooter that has come out since then. The variety of enemies, guns, and puzzles is unparalleled. The physics engine is the best that's ever been made and the endless fun with gravity gun is superb. The story is excellent, the voice acting is top notch. I cannot say enough good things about this game. If you enjoy shooters and you haven't tried HL2, you owe it to yourself to experience the best the genre has to offer. There's a reason this game is the TOP PC game on metacritic...

For any fan of the books - you owe it to yourself to play this if you like RPGs. Disregard the bad reviews, the story in this is top-notch.
