Signalis pulled me in with prospects of a story about finding my wife, forced me to face horrors beyond my comprehension, and spat me back out in a state of emotional torment triggered by the word "ACHTUNG."

It's a fantastic survival horror inspired by the likes of Resident Evil and other games that I haven't played. I was held on the edge of my seat the whole time, reassured only by whatever gun I happened to be holding at the time. The soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece that will make you nervous about whatever's around the corner even if you know nothing is there. And if all that isn't enough, just try backing out of the save menu without actually saving.

If I had a nickel for every character that expressed latent mommy issues to Castti the Apothecary, I'd have like 3 nickels, which is kind of a lot considering there's only 7 candidates.

Octopath Traveler 2 is a masterpiece of a JRPG, with an interesting combat system and largely satisfying story. The Merchant's story made me unreasonably angry, the Dancer's is just fine, and the other 6 are pretty solid, so I'd say that's pretty good. There's no correct order to play the stories, but I'd suggest finishing the Warrior's and the Cleric's first.

As for things to watch out for, I took issue with the stories' use of the word "route" because to me it suggested a choice with exclusive options; instead the routes are more like subsections of each chapter. It's also very important to make sure you rotate through all of the characters or you'll end up needing to grind levels in order to help them survive later content. Considering this is the extent of my complaints, I'd say this game is definitely worth the money.

Do you like the color orange?
Do you want to be an ace fighter pilot?
Do you want to destroy California?
Do you want to get a glimpse of life without the limitations of "blood" and "G forces?"

This game is your chance right here. The music is phenomenally perfect, the characters are great, and the planes go real fast, dude. This masterpiece is best enjoyed with a VR headset and HOTAS, not that the lack of either should stop you from playing (because heck, a quest 2 and a vkb stick plus throttle is cool but $500 ain't exactly nothing). At the end of the day, Project Wingman can easily turn a curiosity about being in the cockpit into an uncontrollable urge to see what unreasonable maneuvers you can pull off in the air. So sit down, strap in, and find out how much orange you can take.

It's a 200% wholesome game about self-acceptance and forming meaningful connections with your friends and coworkers. But just like in real life, remember to let those fantasies about your manager stay that way.

If you destroy all the foundation pieces, you lose the game.

It asks for so little, yet offers so much.

I've got a lot of the same gripes as the other reviews. The drifting function is awkward. You are never set in a direction, rather, steering left and right change the drift direction completely, resulting in you swinging the back end of your car around the road. That might not be so bad, except that exiting a drift wrong (not that I could define wrong), can oversteer you into a wall. The game has some level of autosteer, which I might like to disable. Relating to the autosteer is the awkwardness of turning. Even when using a controller, the distance of the stick from center doesn't change how hard you turn; instead, the game only considers how long you've been trying to turn.

I'm giving the game a positive review anyway because the vibe is right and I think these problems can get ironed out without too much trouble. Racing games are all different, so maybe I'm just not as good as I think I am.

Right out of the gate I'll admit that Sekiro was too hard for me. However, after revisiting the game with mods to make it easier, I really did enjoy it. That said, if you have the time, I do recommend giving the vanilla game a try. Most notably, Sekiro differs from Dark Souls in the accessibility of its story. Rather than obscuring lore in items, Sekiro's story is conveyed mostly through dialogue, with items usually only adding supplementary information about the world.

In terms of "easy mode" mods, there is actually quite a bit to find on Nexus Mods. Some are minimal in their changes (reduced spirit emblem costs), some go so far as to increase damage dealt, reduce damage taken, remove spirit emblem costs, etc. There is no way for me to tell you which one is right for you; you have to play and find out for yourself.

However, I've tried both "Sekiro the Easy" and "Sekiro the Relaxed." The former is close to what you would probably call game journalist difficulty. Normal enemies become cannon fodder that shower you with xp, and bosses can almost always be defeated on the first attempt. My experience with the latter is much closer to that of the base game. The game is still difficult, but with the removal of spirit emblem costs as well giving infinite uses of basic items like ceramic shards, you feel distinctly more cool than otherwise.

Big tiddy anime Dark Souls Lite. So many waifus, dude. Like, so many.

Order of events:
1. Create detailed lady character.
2. Play the tutorial.
3. Acquire waifu.
4. Kill.
5. Repeat steps 3 & 4.

And if "My outfit consists of a hooded cape and an unraveled roll of toilet paper" doesn't catch your fancy, maybe you'll enjoy The Russian, "No I will not tell you how I got a Dodge Charger up here", The Gun Nut, The Singer, Nameless Vampire Bait, or any of the variety of humanoid monster girls that may or may not be friendly.

OK but actually...
It's BaMCo, so Dark Souls is the easy comparison. Code Vein is, overall, easier than Dark Souls; it's by no means relaxing, but progress comes at a steady, satisfying pace.
The lore for the world is much more readily accessible; cutscenes abound and are even individually rewatchable in the "Hot Spring" area.
Character stat and ability progression is Code Vein's unique aspect. You can effectively reclass at any time between an expanding inventory of "Blood Codes." Your code dictates most major aspects of your character; health, stamina, carrying capacity, and stats like strength, dexterity are tied to your code. The downside to this is that you can only take build optimization so far (quick movement with big weapons is generally impossible).
