So I didn't make it very far after the tutorial by the time of writing this so take this as "FIRST IMPRESSIONS" but I've already got some things I wanna mention, starting with the problems

-The game apparently has gamepad support but it struggles to read DualShock4 inputs natively. This is very annoying as you can probably imagine as I had to play the tutorial on my lopsided laptop while standing. I had to use one of Steam's canned "KB+M" Controller configs to finish it. Attacking with L3 to mouse click was pretty awkward.

-Yukikaze's sprite art, taken from her Yukikaze 2 art, is "censored" and may go for the other Taimanin as well. I put marks around the word 'censored' because this was also in the Japanese version. (I checked via QooApp) But it's a shame that one of the iconic design elements isn't in the art they reused, especially since it's rare for full unapologetic nudity to be a seen as a part of a character's costume in most non-H games. Some would ask "Why does this matter" and I would respond with "Because it adds to the fun of the game, if a meaningful little". I could even say the same for the character models but then that'd be dragging these little gripes into the ground.
-It's also a direct mobile port in some ways. As such, you have to beat the point and click tutorial before the game gives you the freedom to check your settings. It also tells you to touch instead of press, which is a little odd. The UI is also unhidable for a PC version. A better Platform appropriate UI would be welcome too.


-The characters, especially the lovely Yukikaze, show plenty of personality that you would have never seen if you only watched the abridged H-OVAs, especially when idle on the menus. Characters are also aware of their sexy allure and aren't afraid to show it off either.

-the combat already shows a lot of stylish potential itself. There already seems to be somewhat technical attack chains that are simple to pull off, ranging from mid-combo "Button" holds that send you flying, to perfect dodge attacks that punish your enemy for trying... to even bullet hell "Rainstorms" ripped straight out of Devil May Cry?! Oh FxCK YES! Some say the combat resembles Honkai Impact. Never played it but can say Honkai isn't on PC.

-The story, like the main Taimanin VNs, also echo the tone of modern Ninja Gaiden games in which ninjas of the concrete jungles must fight against shady organizations messing with the supernatural. Except unlike the VNs, the focus here is mostly on the action and side stories rather than the girls getting comically raped for the billionth time in a row (not that there's anything wrong with that). If your a fan of the "Serious Modern Ninja" with a hint of sexiness and cuteness lightly tossed in then you may like this. (And who knows, you may end up getting interested in Taimanin and joining the culture too.)


I really do wish Steam would allow for a first impression rating on reviews. I'll still try to play the game a little more but they really need to fix their controller support regarding non-XBox controllers. I hope to see this game evolve and not be forgotten by the translators working on this. I'll be keeping my eye on this.

Bought the game on sale. It's pretty cute and the designs are kinda stylish in a classical way. However I don't want to officially start the game until the DLC is put on steam like other eroge's on the platform. The game is pretty much a half baked release from what it seems. So I can't properly review until they release the DLC that completes the experience. I would definitely pay for that and will give a full, re-edited review. Until then, this is not a true recommendation until they fix this game, making it fully uncut.

Get on that Sekai Project. I'm waiting...
