Okay, I think it's time for some real talk:
It was mentioned in the story that Chocola and Vanilla are only 9 months old, and they are about 12~ years old in human age. Knowing this, we can safely assume that a 1 year old catgirl is around the human age of 16, and you know what 16 year olds do? That's right! They get drafted into the army.

These catgirls' military value is astonishing. They turn from an infant into a well developed human being who is completely capable of speech in mere 12 months. Not only that, but judging from this quick growth I can guess that even their reproduction rate is similar to felines, so before getting sent to the frontlines they can even produce a couple of offsprings, who can get trained and sent out the following year aswell, only growing in numbers.

Besides that, even on the field they have their advantages, being more agile than normal humans, and the potential to exploit their looks, because no man in their right mind would ever shoot an adorable cat girl.

Wake up mankind, these creatures aren't our salvation, but supersoldiers, who bring our undoing, AND NO ONE REALISES TH-
