Here is my shallow review. I'm enjoying this game profusely. Great quests. Guns, gun modding and then shooting NPCs with these guns is great fun.

I've played Skyrim and Starfield, but skipped Fallout 4 all these years. Now I'm playing it and its like Skyrim with guns or Starfield with only 1 planet. There's a LOT of content on this Fallout planet. The theme is alternate 1950's sci-fi tech. Its amusing but scary at the same time. Nuclear holocaust! Oh my.

I have to go now, my settlers need me :D

I picked this up on sale for $5. No reason not to try it.

This game is like Doom with quests and a sense of humor. I like the art design. The combat mechanics are fun. If you're looking for an old school looter/shooter, this fits the bill. I like the multiple player classes and the RPG style skill point system. I'm having fun with Borderlands 2.

An addictive old school dungeon crawler. I'm having a lot of fun with the Outlander.

Update 2/6/2024: I've played all the classes now. Leveled them to around lvl 70. They are all unique and fun to play. My main complaint is how the cursor can get lost in the mayhem. So I choose weapons and skills that can be aimed in a general direction, rather than clicking on a single enemy. I haven't tried any of the mods yet, but thinking about it.

Still having fun with it after 190 hrs.

This is a pretty good RPG: Skyrim in space with a bit of NMS mixed in. Having fun so far. I'll update this review after 100 hrs.

9/20/23: After 150hrs and my review is still positive. I had some major issues due to not finishing quests. Quests get stuck in this game if you do things out of order. Do them as the game expects and its a great experience. My 2nd play-through is flawless so far.

11/29/23: 800hr update- Still playing Starfield. NG+ adds great replay-ability. Start a new game with carry over skills and character level. Take a different path with quests using Starborn powers.

03/18/24 update after more than 1000 hours:
This game destroyed my life. I lost my job, my wife left me, then my dog ran away. Despite that I recommend Starfield to all my friends.

06/24/24 Ignore the recent review ratings because those are based on relentless review bombs from political crybabies. Starfield would be 85%-90% positive reviews without the trolls.

I don't usually like these scripted RPGs but HZD is a lot of fun! I'm hooked.

On my second day of Eve Online. I play Elite Dangerous and No Man's Sky. EO is a totally different game and fun for different reasons. I'll keep playing.

Update: after 400 hours of play time, I can no longer recommend Eve Online. This game is a murderfest of the inexperienced noobs. Seal clubbers are everywhere and they show no mercy. The only way to avoid getting destroyed is to play the boring missions. If I try to explore new activities and new revenue streams, I get wiped out by other players. Ironically, the biggest and most powerful ships are just death traps. You're better off in the small fast frigates and maybe you'll get lucky. That's no fun for me.

If you're the type of player that enjoys PvP and have the time to spend in constant discord discussions then maybe you'll have more success with the player corporations than I did. Apparently lots of player find a way to make this work. I can't.
