I lay in the trenches of the german first line listening to the mortars drop and the machine gun bullets wizzing by over my head. I take brief pod shots at the enemy line but have a hard time seeing anything through the grime and smoke. Then I hear an all too familair sound.....Für das Vaterland! Attacke! Attacke! Our NCO had just ordered us to charge the enemy lines and seeing that spreading cloud of chlorine gas on the horizon sure dident help puersuade the descision. I briefly considered shooting myself in the foot or hiding behind our line somewhere but what real soldier would do that?

"Screw it" I thought, and with that I bounded up out of the trenches and proceeded to run for my life hearing noise of war and whistle of bullets all around me. Knowing if I hesitated now, even for a second, I would most likely end up facedown in the mud. Reminding myself of the noise variances akin to bullets, A hiss means its close but a snag means its a near miss. If you hear the latter then you better hit the ground like a fat man chasing a doughnut.

Needless to say the next several minutes are a blurr of mud, screams, and smoke. Seeing several of my comrades fall in front of me and not get up again, knowing I might soon be joining them I close the bolt on my Grewher 98 as I get close enough to the enemy line to see heads moving about. Several of my fellows in a foxhole beside me raise up to run into the enemy trench which lay devestated from artillery fire, I notice movement in front of me. Several brits had rose up to take shots at my allies. I expose myself out of my fox hole and pick them off using 3 of my 5 shots earning myself 4 kills, as one of my bullets had went through my enemies neck and into his NCO behind him, I see my friends scramble into the trench all safe from the horrors of No Mans Land. Then I see more movement on my right and turn to see the barrel of a MG sticking out amonst the sandbags. I close my eyes muttering a curse under my breath and accept my fate as I hear the sound of the machine gun open fire.

I reopen my eyes and find myself back in the trench I had just fought my way out of just to do it all over again. Except now the enemy was charging us.

9/10 would die for my friends again

P.S. Listen to a Sabaton playlist while playing this, its OP as ♥♥♥♥ >:D

Luckily I bought this game on sale so I only threw out like $20

Let me make this short and sweet as I can for readers convienance. This game is a hellah grind, both level wise and mental wise meaning if you want that big awesome looking keep then you better be prepared to scoure the land for every little piece of wood, stone, thatch, and oddly shaped animal skin nessicary to build it (Thank almighty God for infinity piles) The developers are being sketchy as ♥♥♥♥ about more then a few things and without a good group of people to play with you might as well not even try.

The combat system in this game is a joke, It is literally faster and easier to kill people just running around bare ass naked with zweihanders, you cant see arrows in flight both from archer or victims perspective. Dont even bother building wooden walls and lastly you wont do much else from beating a stick against a rock without investing some SERIOUS time into your server. It seems almost everyone is out for you just for the hell of it and there is really no proper usage of horses yet and player animations are SUPER exploited.

Do I think this is a bad game? Certainly not....oddly kinda fun and satisfying

Could it possibly be more than a time sink one day? Absolutely

Does it need a nerf and rework in many areas? Oh hellah yes

All I am trying to say is that it might be a good game one day and is fun in the short-term but until the developers actually buckle down on it and start having more and better updates and add some MAJOR patches to this thing and desperately needed content this wont be much more than just another regret.

Simply put, dont bother logging hours in this game until it gets alot further along in development and actually gets polished out alot more to the point where it is playable beyond something of a trolls breeding ground.

Guess it is true what they all say, Life is Feudal

Early Access Review
I couldent slow it down so I had to crash the b****. Plane crashed, seems like I was the only survivor....the locals are not friendly(or human).

Spent the first week surviving solo and dodging the locals. After the whole "situation" sunk in of course. The second week was mostly fighting back and them sieging my fort. After the "last stand" defences fell I ended up running for my life through the woods picking sticks and spear points outta my azz.

Third week rolled around and I found myself becoming more and more concerned with more "primal" thoughts such as food, sleep, hunt, me build fire! You get the idea....and less about getting off this island.

Fourth week or something...idk the days really started to blur together and I found myself hacking down a local raiding party and feel my stomach growl as I savor the new meal to come. Then I notice a skinny and bloodied local dragging on of the dead ones away. When I approach him he doesnt run, just stop and falls to his knees making pathetic whining sounds.....Is that...tears? He is crying! But why? Since when do they do this? They are monsters!

I look down at him in confusion then I notice my own body, decorated with the bones and skin of prey I had slain, my hands bloody and mudded as I grip one of my many weapons tightly. Then I remember the bonfire last night and the howl I had given to the moon as if trying to incite the prey to attack me.....Oh, now it makes sense. I was the monster....

Solid gameplay for hours on end. Its addicting and hard to put down. Although it is low in the graphics area compared to modern day games, it makes up for it later on. With plenty of mods and new textures you can choose to add into your game, This one makes the favorites list easily.

Although it is kinda buggy and pretty basic, Civ 5 is a nice paced game with awesome graphics as well as a play style and sense of power that you will end up getting addicted to. Logging hours in this game is easy and it sucks you in right from the start.
