When I finished Hellblade 1, I thought it was a short but very cool game, with decent combat and an overall interesting story—I really enjoyed it. When I heard that they were going to release Hellblade 2, I was genuinely excited.

However, as I played through this game, I felt more disappointment than excitement. Here’s the thing: while the game has stunning graphics and looks amazing, the combat feels noticeably weaker compared to Hellblade 1. A significant portion of the gameplay is cinematic, where you’re often just holding W to progress, and the path movement feels restrictive, offering no sense of free exploration. The puzzles are few and mostly very easy, making the experience feel less engaging.

In short, while Hellblade 2 excels visually, it falls short in almost every other aspect compared to Hellblade 1.

After 85 hours of gameplay, I can say it’s a beautiful and captivating game. However, building, especially larger houses, is frustrating due to many issues:

There are far too many construction bugs.
If I’m in my base and want to open the construction book, it doesn’t let me turn the pages or access references in the book.
If I try to jump on a step, the character moves backward (I really don’t understand this one).
If I place a floating foundation on water and it clips into a rock, everything is fine. But if I try to place a frame afterward... NO!

I bought this on sale, and honestly, it’s not worth more than 10 euros. The game is great, and the concept is amazing, but for players who enjoy building and designing, the bugs make it a frustrating experience. Fixing these would greatly improve the game. SHAME!
