Received the game a few days ago as of writing this. Watched the opening cutscene and was told I was being shown propaganda.
My brother in christ it worked. Send the super destroyers and triple the helldiver weapons budget.

As of writing this I only have 74 hours on the game. Despite this I have to admit this game is incredibly more than just the "Character Creationism the game" than I initially thought it was. The game itself is completely open world and absolutely huge. I have yet to explore the full map and doubt I will in the next 74 hours. In addition to the usual combat there is also more than a dozen life skills to take part in, from simply gathering plants and cutting wood, to trading and hunting exotic life. In my opinion one of the few downsides to the game is the lack of being able to choose race when class is concerned, or even which gender the character is. Despite this and a number of other small nitpicks I believe Black Desert Online is well worth the purchase if you enjoy an MMO with depth and story.

This game shows its age I will say this first and foremost, especially when it comes to graphics. However compared to some of the more aesthetically pleasing things out there, it has it where it counts with game mechanics. I have very fond memories of playing this game for *hours* back when it was still relatively new and even now I know why I loved it. Even for my earlier complaint about there being low graphics there is a wonderful modding community out there who has taken this masterpiece and touched it up to put it with the more modern games, is it triple A quality? No, but then again with all the triple A games out there I'd rather play this instead. Buy this game, it is definitely worth what it costs and then some.

I have played this game for years, From the serious of the now to the rediculous of before the TF;GO days, This game is silly and enjoyable. Nowadays it's a lot harder to find the rediculous servers that modded the game to be even more over the top. But let me say it is still enjoyable today as it was back even 2 years ago.
Is it different since then? Yes.
Is there still goofy servers? Of course.
The only real thing I can say is you won't regret trying this game out.

This game is very much like MOBAs where it pits 5 players against 5 other players in an arena sort of combat. but instead of having to buy heroes or something you instead get to research toward space ships in a fashion similar to World of Tanks or similar games. when players leave there is a sort of balance system in place to where it is still possible to have victory over a larger team. what ship type you pick and what you're up against is not entirely what decides the game. it is how well you play that ship
