If you feel the way I feel about modern-day gaming - NOT being in control; A lot of hand-holding; tutorial after tutorial; today's games talks down to me; too much automatic cutscenes; enemies and loot scale to my level; publishers rushing developers; Loot Boxes, microtransactions and pointless DLC - then I guarantee you are going to LOVE Bard's Tale Trilogy.
The Bard's Tale Trilogy is mostly everything I wish today's games could have been.

-Personal Complaints:
1. I don't like that the game lacks an in-game main-quest direction, explanation and description(no, I don't mean quest marker).
2. I don't find any of the songs memorable.
3. There is a Legacy mode, yes. But what about ''modern day re-skin''-mode? to make the game's characters, races and classes more closer to The Bard's Tale(2004) and Bard's Tale IV? I would love to see that.

ONE LAST THING!
Please, turn on Legacy Mode. This Trilogy is so much more fun that way. You're welcome, and Good Gaming :)

A). improvements over OldEnderal and what I like

B). What I think should have been in Enderal FS. And improvements

Before I begin, I first of all would like to thank SureAI for creating and bringing over Enderal FS to Steam. Enderal FS is incredible.
It is hard for me to believe that a small group of people made this, and especially for free.

My favorite aspects of Enderal are elements that used to be a thing in classical RPGs
  1. hand placed enemies and loot. Sorry, but I personally am not a big fan of Bethesdas level-scaling(Dynamic leveling)
  2. interesting story
  3. gaining a level, and putting points in a skill, does matter.
  4. unique companions and their back-stories
  5. Armor sets, like in World of Warcraft
  6. Hard difficulty.
  7. et cetera et cetera

A). improvements over OldEnderal and what I like
  1. Belted quiver(I like it. I don't need to download a separate mod anymore).
  2. Sign-post fast-travel in the city is vertical, and not horizontal. Same goes for the flight list(I like it)
  3. Phasmalist... with this, comes soul echoes
  4. Lycanthrope(I like this)
  5. more affinities(Yes!)
  6. I can now upgrade armor sets(YES!)
  7. Books have their unique cover. And some books are voiced(a nice touch)
  8. One of the opening character have had a change in voice actor... what? (Why? I don't understand?).
  9. speaking of opening, there is now a skip button... aaaaaand it's not working the way I thought it did :(
  10. Jespar have a bit more dialogue and some dialogues are re-recorded and reworked.
  11. Yero's journal are 3-parters(why?). With a... key?
  12. Wild wolves are more likely to give me rabies, but a different kind of rabies, not Enderal's old rabies. Even Vatyrs carry diseases and can make my character sick.
  13. A dead mage by the starting waterfall, and it has the lycan recipe.
  14. I can now press the Y-button(keyboard) to meditate(another nice touch)
  15. Humanoid enemies can now use weapon skills and roll-dodge(Yes, an improved challenge to combat)
  16. The stealth system is now different(I like it)
  17. Mentalism/Light Magic have had a bit of a makeover(Yes!)
  18. Enemies have gotten stronger on adapt(I like it. Adapt on OldEnderal wasn't that challenging)
  19. Rhetoric is finally more useful, especially in the undercity.
  20. ...speaking of undercity, there are now fast-travel signs in some areas(YES!)
  21. The game is less crashy.
  22. A new launcher with a new Launch jingle
  23. New main menu background
  24. That weird ominous casket voice of the dead, has a different look
  25. Found a small stash!
  26. lockpicking now has a chance of giving me some bonus gold

B). What I think should have been in Enderal FS. And improvements
  1. Quick loot(a la Fallout 4)
  2. A matter of time
  3. Master of disguise (I would have liked to dress like a beggar in order to gain the people of undercity's trust)
  4. Tap... tap... ORE! ...tap... tap... ORE!(I don't understand? Why can't I just mine ore by hitting the deposit with the attack-button while equipping a pickaxe)
  5. Still no No crossbows... why?(I don't understand? crossbows could have been like in Dragon Age, more ment for warriors than rogues)
  6. There is no Barbarian armor set(light armor with 2H bonuses) and no barbarian affinity :(
  7. I can't re-spec my character.
  8. Armor is still light and heavy. I was hoping Enderal FS would add Medium armor (Please, don't misunderstand me, it is not SureAI who is at fault; It is Bethesda.
  9. No attributes? STR, AGI, INT and so on... why not? I think it would have been awesome if you guys, at SureAI, would put back what Bethesda removed. Here is my suggestion to SureAI: if I leveled-up health, not only would it increase my health pool, it would also give me a very small(00.05%), global increase in melee DMG with all Melee weapons. If I leveled-up Mana, not only would I increase my mana pool, I would also get a very slight, global increase in Magic DMG, in every school. If I picked Stamina, not only would it increase my stamina pool, it would also give me a very slight, global increase in attack speed(including bows and fists) and a very slight increase in Bow DMG... by the way, I'm not sure if daggers could be accounted for with increase in attack speed, since they are the quickest weapon in the game.
  10. The combat is just the same... why? There is no Attack commitment & dodge (please don't misunderstand me, SureAI is not to blame for the lacking combat. It is Bethesda's fault. I was hoping SureAI would make the combat a bit more interesting, like with Gothic or Dark Souls. It doesn't have to be Devil May Cry... just... a bit more mentality and attention would be nice)
  11. Items sold through shops are still locked behind a level threshold (Bethesda's level-scaling is still sticking, like bubble gum. Why can't shops be like the good old days? Mostly everything is available as long as I got the money.)
  12. No vampire counterpart(I know there is the lycan, which I am very thankful for, but... you know). Maybe, the vampire counterpart could be a fish man(lovecraft), or an oobaya
  13. There is no Skip-Button for cut-scenes beyond the opening
  14. Playing a Melee-warrior-type is still boring :( and mostly as a 2H warrior.

ONE LAST THING. My personal complaints aside, I very much enjoyed Enderal FS. And I will take Enderal over Skyrim.
Enderal: Forgotten Stories is mostly everything I wish the original Skyrim could have been.

I support SureAI. I wish them all the best.

Here is hoping Bethesda will take cues from Enderal with TES-VI.

And here's for Nehrim this upcoming 2020.

As someone who owns both the PS3 and the PC ver. I can write these two sentences with absolute confidence:
...It's ok to go on YouTube for the story; It's ok to pass this one up for Final Fantasy XIII-2.

PS: Despite FF-XIII's unexpected shortcoming upon its original 2009-2010 release, the soundtrack is great.

Very interesting.

*Ink Stains Games - if this is for real, and if your kickstarter isn't just another scam project - then I'm definitly going to check out the full game upon release.

As someone who is a big fan of Diablo 2 and DOOM Roguelike... I hope this game is - not only legit, but also - great.

Good luck with the full release and keep up the good work.

*Please, don't take that the wrong way. I hate it when people take advantage of kickstarter for all the wrong reasons: Mighty no. 9; OUYA; Ant Simulator; Star Citizen... and the list goes on.

UPDATE: June, 16th. 2018
And please, Ink stains games, don't let peoples complains of ''this game is too hard'' discourage you. I like this game to be hard as it is.

Upon the games' full release, if I find out this games' difficulty has been reduced noticeably, I will be sad :'(

Dark souls 2 Scholar of the First sin is a great update to the somewhat ''messy release'' of Dark Souls 2

If you have a 64-bit system(and you are a Dark souls fan like me), then you should definitely pick this game up.

Apart from my PC Limbo-crashing when using the steam browser, the game is very much bug and crash free.

Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the first sin is worth you time and money.

Ok... so, I just finished the main campaign. And where do I even begin?

Should I point out how I think this game is just your avarage Playstation 2 GTA/action game... or, should I point out how this game only got its overblown hype, awards and attention because of nostalgia... and some references here and there to the movies.

This game is rich in its story; epic in its soundtrack and good-looking in its graphics... but is disappointing in its gameplay. Especially disappointing in its final-boss fight... if you would even call it ''a final-boss fight''.

So, in conclusion... can I recommend this game to others? No and Yes.

I can't recommend this game to everyone... just a handful of people. I can recommend this game to your avarage Grand Theft Auto/Action-fan... And of course, Lord of the Rings-fan. I can't recommend this game to people expecting a Witcher 2/Dark Souls out of this game.

In a nutshell:
+ story
+ graphics
+ music

- gameplay
- disappointing final-boss fight... all that build-up for nothing.
-The main-campaign is short.

Salt and Sanctuary - a 2D, MetroidVania, Soul-inspired RPG - developed by Ska Studios... and with some outside help.

1. Review
2. PC Port
3. Potential sequel
4. In conlcusion

1. Review.
Story, Graphics and Gameplay.

You are shipwrecked on an ''unknown island of madness, hopelessness and danger''. The island in S&S itself reminds me of Lost (2004 - 2010 TV-series).

Just like Dark Souls, the story of the game isn't really all that important. And also just like Dark Souls, the story and lore is visible in the items and character dialogue.

The Graphics are hand-drawn, 2D animation with creepyness to it

Gameplay is like CastleVania: Symphony of the night/Super Metroid... but more of an RPG focus.

Combined together, salt and Sanctuary's combos is a match made in heaven. This game is great.

2. PC Port.

Salt and Sanctuary's transition - from the PS4 to the PC - is handle very well, so much more better than Dark Souls 1's PC port.

-Very stable Frame-rate... with adjustable resolution
-Keyboard and Mouse support... with mappable keys
-xbox controller support...alongside with PS4

It makes me happy to see developers, such as Ska Studios, making very good PC ports.

3. Potential Sequel.

A handful of People have been asking and wondering if there will be a sequel... or something like that.

Yeah... sure. A sequel would be nice... but... Salt And Sanctuary is a great game. What more do you need to improve upon?

-More brands?
-medium-type armor?
-secret Arts from Monster Hunter?
-Switching the scenario from an Island to Space?
-switch from 2D to 3D?
-VR?
-motion controlls?
-Switching your engine to the Crytek Engine?
-over 9001 monster-types, weapon-types and classes?
-Quick Time Events?

Jokes aside(haha). I can't think of anything else to improve other than small details: more classes, more bosses and more artistic details and such.

Let's take Lords of the Fallen, as an example, that game screams out ''potential sequel''.
When you play Lords of the Fallen, you can tell that that game is a warm-up for an upcoming and far superior sequel.

But Salt and Sanctuary... is a Natural-born masterpiece.

4. In Conclusion.

Salt and Sanctuary is a game I can strongly recommend to other people.

If a sequel is in development, then I can't wait to play it.

Keep up the good work Ska Studios.

Clicker Heroes review (ver 1.0 e3)

Preface

My review of Clicker Heroes is a serious one... with a pinch of humour. Enjoy

Story
The epic Hero of this... tale? Is not a pre-made Japanese high-school Boy/Girl controling demons; not a princess possessed by a mighty Valkyrie; not a ex-prisoner destined to defeat dragons.
...no, you are neither one of these above.

The Epic Hero of this game is... you. You the guy/girl who plays this game - No character creation, no avatar, no classes - just you and your mouse and keyboard.

The story of Clicker Heroes is... well, the characater *description and the Lovecraftian Outsiders will tell you more. You can also find out more about the story on the forums and in the wiki.
*I am not sure if I am the only one, but the character descriptions are gone for me. I had to go online to read the characters descriptions.

As far as the story goes... that's pretty much it - no cutscenes, no plot twists, no ancient evil, no sibling rivalry, no female companion to comfort you - just character descriptions.

Gameplay
You play the game with your left mouse-button and the 1-9-keys... and shortcut keys on your keyboards.

You kill monster and get their gold. When you have enough gold, you buy even more powerful heroes to help you kill quicker. et cetera, et cetera and et cetera.
But then... when you go past level 99, you get Hero Souls(HS)... what do you do with HS? well, that's simple, you buy ''Ancients''. Ancients are upgrades that will make things easier for you.
You also collect Ancient Souls(AS) for the outsiders AS makes things even more easier.

...apart from these things above, you also Click, Click, Click and Click.

Music and Sound
Music is just one looping song. And most sounds are you hitting, killing and collecting monsters gold.
One sound-piece that sticks out is the special ''jingle'' when you click on the Outsiders tab.
...aaaaand that is it for Music and Sound.

Conclusion
I really don't know what else to say about Clicker Heroes. I have played Clicker heroes since 2015(since ver. 0.20). I even payed 9€ to Clicker Heroes just so I could get Steam Trading Cards.
I am addicted to Clicker Heroes... and I hate myself for it :). But... man, I need more HS and AS and I don't know why.

I heard the team is also working on a Clicker Heroes 2. It makes me happy to hear that Clicker Heroes was so successful that the devs could develop a sequel. Good on you Playsaurus.
