Early Access Review
On one hand, I love this game. The gameplay is awesome, I got more than my money's worth. I would love to recommend it, but I also have a lot of really bad feelings about this game. This game is early access, so if they fix the crippling problems then I will change this.

The castle building is much deeper than I wouldve anticipated and you can make some beautiful creations. The combat loop is satisfying, rewarding, twitchy enough, and fairly strategic. I never got tired of the combat/farming or the castle building before I quit. I did almost everything I wanted to aside from keep playing. Finally, the game is incredibly polished for early release (aside from unintended abuse of the bat/frog forms to cheese into peoples bases.)

Why did I quit? for the same reason I can't recommend the title. There are some easy solutions to my problem such as don't play on a castle raiding pvp server, don't play pvp at all, or just always be online. This doesn't work for me, because the PVP IS fun when it's fair, and the only endgame content this game has is, in fact, pvp and castle raiding. Unfortunately if you work or can't be online during pvp times, your castle will get destroyed 100 percent and everything you've worked to farm will be taken. You could say, "well you'll still have your gear or you'll still have your abilities." But when you've farmed for hours and hours to make a perfect, beautiful creation and everything is taken the second you arent online for the pvp window, it's pretty defeating.

If you aren't careful, people can use some of the really cool abilities to just enter your castle no matter what you do and destroy/take things. That can be prevented to a degree if you're careful, but never entirely. There are a large number of decorations/fences that you wouldn't want to use because this makes your base weaker, not that it matters a whole lot in the end. If you aren't online, no matter what you did to build up, castle raiding is the equivalent of punching a baby and stealing its candy. There is nothing you can do about it.

What makes this a little more sad is you can charm servants and use them to defend your base, but that is basically pointless anyways. The mechanic is really cool, but if you arent there, they are the equivalent of a mosquito regardless of how hard you worked to find the most powerful servants and put the best gear on them. It takes a LOT, and i do mean a TON of resources to gear your servants, but its pointless in the end. I even went so far as to make my castle look ugly and silly by building layer after layer of honey-combed walls and doors that were a nuisance to go in and out. I put traps down via unintented mechanics by summoning NPC minions into the main entry choke-points of my walls. Things I had to navigate around to get in and out and it was a pain. But in the end it didn't matter.

If you piss someone off for any reason and they come from a better clan and have more free time than you, the first time you aren't on for the ENTIRE infinitely long pvp window, you've lost everything you made. There is an exception, a dinky lockbox that can contain a few items, but it is nowhere near enough to replace everything you lost and all the time you spent. You may be thinking, "ok, ill just wait until the next pvp window and destroy the guy that took me out and take everything back." Well, unfortunately, if they are online, you won't win.

There is only incentive to raid castles when another player is offline. Basically there is no end-game pvp. PVP is the end-game, so the loop is simply wait until person A is offline, walk into base with a very cheap golem, loot everything, walk away. So basically everything you work for will be taken by someone with infinite time. The first time this happened to me and everything was taken, I thought, "ill jump servers and start over. it'll be fun!" Well I did that, I was careful not to upset anyone via PVP, and it didn't matter. Eventually someone is going to want to get you. You make a big castle, you build it up, people with endless time will take and destroy everything the second you're offline.

This could be fixed if servants were powerful enough that the enemy actually had to contend with them. Or if you could set traps. Hell if the enemy couldnt just go bat-form and see inside your entire castle no matter what you did so they can plan an attack, that would help loads! Or if they couldnt go bat form and just drop into the cliff of your castle, walk in, and take stuff/scout/kill your npcs.

My advice is to wait until they make it so you can't raid castles with the castle host offline, or implement some sort of insurance system, or some paid defense system, or the ability to set traps. Another needed fix is that the enemy cant just know where your castle is the first time they go bat form, or drop anywhere near your castle, or see inside your entire base just by flying by with your name highlighted so they can instantly scout you out.

They can literally sit in bat form next to your castle, wait until you go offline because it shows them that you've gone offline, and then destroy and take everything from you. You cant stop them. Or if they had some actual endgame other than pvp, but the game was build around pvp as the end-game.

pretty disatisfied with the game in general after learning how it works.

a great rpg with story and good game mechanics such as the mercy rout you have to do things that only affect them that one character thats why one against 2 in this game is harder cause you have to find there special thing and in genicide rout you have to time the attacs in an order of middle does the most the right and left sides do basically nothing

This port is pure crap.

I was the biggest fan of this series. I was heartbroken when i learned they weren't releasing for xbox one (traded my xbox in because i didn't use it.)

The controls are trash. It will take you hours to get it even playable. In a game where nothing is intuitive and you rely on twitch mechanics and everything should flow smoothly, this is bad. The game is hard enough without ♥♥♥♥ controls/ui making it harder. I love the challenge, but this difficulty paired with the sluggish feel and horrible control system, it's just too much. I'm trying to figure out how to refund this junk port.
