If you like the first game, Fallen Order, then I think you will also enjoy this game. A good sequel that improves on the combat, the size of the world, and the customization. The biggest downside is this game has some optimization issues and minor bugs. I very much enjoyed some of the other stances such as crossguard and blaster. The story itself is only a bit above average with some interesting moments here and there but nothing that really had me itching for more.

You can 100% this game in about 50 hours including all collectibles and achievements. If it didn't have the performance and occasional bugs, I would give it a 9/10. Very much worth playing if you like star wars or the first game.

Weeb Hunter World

If you are familiar with the gameplay loop of Monster Hunter World then this game will be right at home for you. Unlike Monster Hunter World, you have many different characters you can unlock and use for your own party which all have their own skills and playstyles. I personally like this approach over just leveling different kinds of weapons in MHW.

I really enjoy how smooth and responsive the combat and controls feel. Its really the selling point of this game because pulling combos off and getting perfect blocks or dodges feel really satisfying. The story is fine but I don't think its interesting enough to sell as its own anime.

Maybe another selling point would be the quality of life on this game. Everything is clean, clear and just works. Holy cow the menus are amazing and anything you need is in game and easy to navigate to. You can wishlist items you want to grind for from almost any menu where you can interact with those resources. You can sort and filter in your inventory or at any vendor or upgrade menu. I never felt like I had to fight the UI/game or look outside the game for information.

On pacing and difficulty, a good chunk of the game until getting to proud difficulty missions can feel pretty easy. Its like breezing through and suddenly hitting a wall once bosses start being able to one shot you. So the challenge is there but I think it could be spread out or paced a bit better.

This game reminded me of when more games were just there to just have fun and not take itself too seriously. If you want to have a fun/goofy time in a game with wacky guns, this is for you. Its not perfect (see cons) but its great and worth the playtime.

Pros - This game is a visual treat. The character models, effects, environments all look amazing. I could stare at Ratchets fur rendering and physics for hours, looks soft enough to pet.

Performance is smooth and they did a great job of having smooth transitions from gameplay to cutscenes. They also hide most loading screens with animations or short transition scenes that add immersion like the landing sequence when loading into landing on planets.

The gameplay is fun and you are very consistently unlocking new guns or platforming mechanics. Most guns feel very unique and some combo really well with each other.

Cons - The story isn't anything very memorable and its very basic. Its essentially a kids cartoon level of writing. However, there are funny/wholesome moments and the characters and their voice actors make it so its not too boring.

I had some crashing issues. There was a point where I was crashing after just a couple minutes after starting the game, every time I would startup. After messing with the graphics and settings, turning off Nvidia Reflex seemed to help the most but I did still have a couple occasional crashes after changing that setting.

Last con is a mainly my own opinion on value. I don't think the amount of playtime you get in the story is wroth a full price game even though it is a quality game in graphics and gameplay. I 100% this game and achievements in about 20 hours. I was not rushing, and $60 is too expensive for 20 hours of game to me. Try and get it on sale for about $30 or less which is what I did. You can replay in a new game plus mode with some more weapon unlocks, but the story is not worth another playthrough just to enjoy those new versions of the same weapons.

Leaving the previous review below as a reminder in case Sony attempts to ♥♥♥♥ on the players again in the future. Props to Sony for doing the very basics by giving players the choice to create a PSN account instead of by force just so we can have the privilege of playing this game. For now this is a great game especially with friends. Hopefully Sony has learned from this and doesn't decide to go against liberty in the future. I also hope Arrowhead has learned to choose better publishers for future projects and make sure to discuss boundaries regarding a publishers intervention in their games.

Not continuing to play or support after the announcement making a PSN account required verses keeping it optional. Its unfortunate because the game is fun and has great moments especially with friends.

If you are telling me you cant properly run your game without forcing your customers to create a separate account outside of steam, then you are garbage at programming and shouldn't be developing games. Its obviously an excuse to get your data for selling to other companies. Many other games are successful without the need to connect to your trash accounts.

I didn't finish this game, but got to the last boss gauntlet at the end of the game. I quit because similar to FF1 the end game has a huge difficulty spike increase which forces you to grind lvls so your characters even have enough HP to not get one shot constantly. Also after entering this final boss gauntlet area, I am no longer able to leave with no save prior to entering. Definitely my fault for not making multiple saves, but I ended up stuck underlvled and unable to complete the final area or leave to grind and get stronger. So fair warning, grind to about lvl 65 or higher before doing the last area.

I would still recommend and give an 8/10 because the rest of this game was well done and the class system is a much larger step up from FF2. You make your party whatever mish mash of classes you want, switch classes at will, and level classes separately on each character. It makes for great varieties of party builds if you want to get creative. There are a couple encounters that sort of require a minimum of some classes but otherwise its really up to you how to play.

If you like FF games or JRPGs, give this one a shot and prep your bunghole for the last area.

FF4 is definitely an overall step up from the first 3 games. There is a larger focus on story and having meaningful character arcs. Some similarities to prior titles like the crystals being a main objective and the bad guys wanting to get them for their own evil plans. However, IMO the journey of the story is much more fleshed out and interesting than earlier games.

Combat is the same turn based FF experience, the main difference being your characters have a set/defined class. Your characters gradually get stronger and unlock more powerful and unique abilities to their class such as Edge's ninjutsu or Rydia's summoning. I would say the combat experience was the best so far for the first 4 games. There was not any huge spikes in enemy difficulty like some prior titles. Didn't need to grind much to keep my characters power in line with the areas I was traveling to.

The equipment you get as you progress through the story is plentiful and impactful. While your on screen appearance will not change with new equipment, same as earlier games, you will see and feel the growth in strength and toughness of your characters.

The world at first seems a bit sparse until you realize the overworld map is not the only map. You eventually go to the underworld filled with lava, and later are able to travel to the moon! They also did a much better job of placing save/tent locations in longer dungeons or in end game to help you from being stuck in any long multi hour struggle fest.

Overall this is a great classic JRPG and would highly recommend for anyone who likes FF or JRPGs.

Early Access Review
Uninstalling an not recommending until the cash shop is removed. Get your mtx BS out of this game that you already have to pay for.

Its a fun game with no live service type crap or bad monetization in it. If you are a fan of the HP world and enjoy action/adventure/puzzle games then this will be right up your alley. The game does not hold you to a set path and from very early on lets you just wander wherever you want to go. The combat is fun, though pretty easy so I recommend playing on the hardest difficulty if you want any real challenge. Over time it becomes really easy to weave different spell combos together which can be very effective. This game is overall very ambitious and while it doesn't have some things many people may want like Quidditch, it has an immersive world, decent story and enjoyable gameplay.

I experienced one crash very early in game and after that had no issues. Saw a few minor visual bugs like an object floating or a texture flickering but it was rare and small.

It really reminds me of a time when fully completed games released with no gimmicks and if anything had only minor bugs. Good times...

Very fun game with a satisfying gameplay loop. Play as one of 4 classes of dwarf miners, Scout, Driller, Gunner, or Engineer and embark on a mission where your pod lands into some planet or asteroid. Complete the mission there while gathering minerals and completing other optional events that may occur.

Good variety of mission and side missions/events. You can play solo or with up to 3 others. This game has tons of cosmetics you can unlock for each class. This includes armor, helmets, different hairstyles/beardstyles, victory moves, gun skins or paintjobs, pickaxe parts/paintjobs. Still a few others I didn't mention but you get it, tons of stuff to unlock.

The gunplay feels great and each dwarf class feels unique with a purpose. Great horde style enemies that can range from very casual to challenging depending on the difficulty you choose.

Overall great game with devs that obviously care about providing you a fun game to play and not just a product to sell you.

For the price you can get plenty of hours out of it, however even though this may be one of the most well known idle games I think its a bit overhyped. At some point the progression becomes horrendously slow, to the point where getting enough heavenly chips to unlock another prestige node would take multiple weeks. Not seeing any progression for that long in an idle game is pretty boring.

Still recommend cause its worth the price. Fun for a little while then becomes pretty slow and boring. Melvor and NGU are much better idle games.
