Is it fun? sure. is it great? meh. does it get updated? not since OCT, 2023. there is some jank, yes. goofy weapon skins? yes. some skins are nice though. graphics are meh at best for a VR game, does not match the promotional videos/screens. I have this steam version, and the Quest "reloaded" version so i can play with my son. really, the main differences are the map size (steam version has, lets say 8, but they are large and take a little longer to complete than the "reloaded" (ZCR) version. ZCR has lets say, 12, but they are significantly shorter than the steam version. yes, i know that the steam version has more resources available to allow for that. weapons? about the same. Steam version (ZC) has the HQ base you can wander around and go customize guns, ZCR does not. ZCR does it through a menu in the "HQ" that is literally 2 rooms. graphically, i would say the steam version is a little better, but not much. apparently, even if you max out settings it looks the exact same. still very empty maps on both versions, veteran is pretty much one hit kill for players for incoming damage, enemy AI are bullet sponges regardless of the difficulty. ive seen AI take out human players with their VAL rifles with a couple shots, while they can take 3-5 shots from the Desert Eagle, or almost 10 rounds from an assault rifle. sure, if its on veteran, i mean i would understand if it was your typical FPS style game where that is usually an SOP of FPS games. higher difficulty = more enemy health, player takes more damage, but this is ridiculous. if its supposed to be at least somewhat of a "tactical" shooter, maybe both sides should be able to only take a couple hits? screenshots on the steam page look nothing like whats in game. I dont do discord so maybe im missing a reason why they have not updated their game since October of last year, but they could at least fix some things? overhaul the graphics for the steam version? add a couple more goonz (the recommended/suggested weapons to add list is getting bigger every week it seems, only to fall on deaf ears). would i recommend? sure, if you have steam buddies that want to play with you, because every time i create a game, nobody ever joins. ive had a few randos join, but then quickly leave maybe 1-2 maps later. once you beat the main campaign, youll notice maybe half way though it that the maps are pretty empty, specially if you are running solo. PvP seems to be pretty popular, but i am not one of those players, i prefer a good coop sesh. id buy it for another steam friend during a sale, but not full price. i have not tried zombie mode on the steam verison, but on ZCR its ok. my son and i seem to have fun bashing zombies with the fire extinguisher and alpha-male one handing the fire axe with a pistol. get it on sale maybe.

i've enjoyed it a few times throughout its progress out of EA, its changed quite a bit since my last adventure in Last Epoch.

+fools.FOOLS. -magos class toon (only action V/O line from him) I AM NOT A MAN OF MANY POCKETS (when inventory is full) i did have one instance where i tried picking something up, and he said I AM NOT A MAN and then fools. FOOLS. but it had cut off so just the man part was said then FOOL played. it was a fun laugh.

-annoying bug where enemies are invisible, but if you look down in the chasm you can see them animating and everything as if they are right there with you fighting (forget the name of the area, but its when you go through your first visit to the "ruined era" through caverns to rescue NPCs

-cannot rotate view (like in grim dawn) may be nitpicky to others, but when you are walking down the map, and cannot see whats attacking you or what you are trying to attack, its annoying.

+plays pretty smooth at max graphic setting, 165 frame rate, Vsync disabled (because Gsync)

-some players may be thrown off with control setting (QWER to use skills initially, mouse 1 to move, mouse 2 for skill 5)

+skill trees are legit, i enjoy them, being able to customize fireball into a shotgun AoE cone effect, piercing, high velocity, plasma ball? yes please. but, i hate the sound of impact from fireball, but that's me.

+static skill is legit. (magos class)

have not played much in other classes since full release, so i wont dive into them.

gear drops pretty much from every Mob/single enemy, my current playthrough has been Mob simulator 2024 (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cockroaches, nothing static cant take care of)

99% of the gear i actually pick up to sell, i cannot use or is too big a trade off into stats i dont care for, and shatter runes are far and few between for my char at the moment. ive had the same chest piece since mid level 'teens.. and im 25-27 now?

forging concept is great, can add prefix and suffix effects to items you like, or shatter the item to gain a couple shards to add to a different item, its a nice feature, i rarely ever use it.. mainly because the shards i have don't really help my toon out, and forging potential is next to nothing.

potions are in the form of set in your belt gear. so your belt gear determines your potion capacity (at least in my play through. i'm assuming maybe you can get shards that allow you to carry moar in other gear pieces?)

i haven't dived into multiplayer yet, my toon is online so i see everybody else in towns, but no dungeon runs yet.

id recommend it, sure. maybe on sale

enjoyed it. just finished first play through (went full paragon or "nice" route) missed a couple scenes so going to try to get everything through next run(s). i'm not a huge VN player, but some (like this one) tend to keep my attention long enough to finish it. classy lemon did a great job with this and i cannot wait for season 2, which i hope is coming sooner rather than later. worth full price, i was unsure so i got it during summer sale, but would have paid full price for it.

The emperor provides, the emperor protects, the emperor is pleased with this gift from the machine god.

just started act 3, but so far, so good! do yourself a flavor and scoop this up. if you enjoy point and click games, and reading.. cant go wrong with this gem. petting Crouton is a must. Cat starts going Ape sh*t after the 2nd pet mini-game, but it was funny (at least to me) and a nice little break from the game itself. Laid back, no rush on things, a nice break from the other games in my library. Highly recommended. even at full price.

not very far, just played first chapter and a minute or so of the 2nd (got to get a little game time in before work) but loving it so far, this is what we needed, a nice little break from all the bad stuff going on right now. cannot wait to play more after work today. The orange cat reminds me of a similar cat i had when i was younger, so game gets a 5/5 from me.

EDIT: completed today, worth every penny. is it a masterpiece? no, but is it great? yes. even if you are not an achievo hunter, its short, sweet, and I'm glad i got it.

Worth the money? absolutely.

Kill it with Fire, Burn, Pierce, Chaos, Lightning, Cold, and a touch of Frostburn, then crit every hit once skill activates for extra flavor.

i haven't played this in years, loved it when it was live. one of the very few games i played PvP on, mainly because (at the time) the community was actually decent, and the game itself was fun. came back in 2019 to download and hopefully play it again, but after reading reviews that they are shutting it down, i guess i will not be playing it again. sad panda.

changed my review to a negative after seeing the discussion board flood with nothing but negative things, game breaking bugs, and NEVER seeing a developer response to all/any of it. do yourself a favor and buy the original game off fleabay, get the updates for it, and play it like that. the experience is way better and its not riddled with trash like this version. if you own this version, report the game for broken and fraud.
