I've found Phasmophobia to be a wonderfully atmospheric experience, even without VR hardware.

The game sees you entering a mix of haunted venues where you much gather as much information on the ghost residing within. While the current choice of locations are limited, I've found that there is enough variance to offer a wide variety of experiences since ghosts types, ghost locations and item placement are changed up in each 'Investigation'. Im sure that down the line, more maps will be made available too!

There are a variety of different ghost types you can encounter, with varying degrees of activity and violence; though there is certainly some space to grow here as there aren't many indicators outside of gathered evidence to suggest the individual personalities of the ghosts, besides perhaps the poltergeist and Jinn.

The store feature is interesting early game as having to decide what equipment you will bring into your next investigation with the small amount of cash you have is a lot of fun, but after a few short hours of gameplay you will be swimming in money and end up being able to take everything with you in all of your investigations, which makes the game a little too easy in many cases.

All in all, this game is absolutely fantastic for the low cost of £11. If you own VR hardware, I'm confident you wont find a game as atmospheric as this! As I've mentioned above, there are some minor issues that could be addressed in the future, but it is still a highly enjoyable game as it is now, especially with some friends!
