I wanted to like this game, I really did. It checks a lot of boxes on what I generally look for in a game of this kind. While other reviewers have touched on some things that bothered me about it, I just can't recommend it due to one important thing. The colors are just horrid. Words cannot express how much I hate bloom, I absolutely hate the shader effect and I will curse to my dying day the people responsible for it. My Time At Portia has an infestation of it on an unholy scale. Worse yet it cannot be toned down without a mod. The color choice is eye blinding. I tried just about everything I could with reshade to fix it to a level that makes it actually playable, but I just can't. Most of my playtime was devoted to just trying to fix both the bloom and over saturated colors. I officially surrender the battle and call it a loss. I have no doubt this is mostly a me thing and that my eyes strain easily, but until something is done about the colors/bloom filter this game is going to be a brick in my library.

I loved every moment of this game, up until the end. A chase scene where you're severely gimped is never fun! The fact your main character continues to lose sanity, thus making everything you do painful, is horrible. I personally despise endings like this. All that buildup and narration all culimating into one super stressful and annoying chase scene. I went from loving this game to hating it really quickly.

If you can handle that kind of thing, go for it. I personally hate this kind of gameplay to no end. I wish I could return it.

Got lost during a huge blizzard at night. Ran around like a drunken weasel stumbling through the snow with a lantern that barely cut the snow. Scared the crap out of myself. Hunkered down behind a big rock and slept until day. Got hypothermia and managed to haul my sorry half frozen self to a farmhouse. Made a full recovery.

Then I celebrated my victory over the frozen landscape by drinking out of the toilet. I love this game.
