I had installed this game in 2016, and after the first few hours of gameplay, I began to love the game despite some of the frustrations. A year ago, if you were to ask me, "Should I get this game?" I would have immediately responded with a resounding "Yes."

But now...

Now the game is in a bad state. A shell of its former self. After 2017, the developers are...incompetent at the moment (to say the least) and have implemented many questionable design choices. They even copied and implemented the weapon skins system from CS:GO. The only difference is that you can actually get cases and open them without spending real money (but you have to grind for it). This is just a minor issue when compared to the sheer amount of imbalances within the game and the cesspool of bugs that lurk throughout (the Payload itself is one giant bug sometimes). There's character imbalances, weapon imbalances, even the teams are unbalanced due to the horrible matchmaking. Not only that, but it can be very time consuming to unlock just a single mercenary. Combine all that with a dwindling playerbase, and you've got yourself what seems like one hell of a dumpster fire.

Yet despite all this, I'm still compelled to say some positive things about this game.

Where to start? How about with the the core aspect of this game: gunplay. It's sublime. It's like a combination Of Call Of Duty and Counter-Strike. You can hipfire for close to mid-range combat, or you can aim down your sights to reduce spread at the cost of having to look through a somewhat big and clunky ironsight, which will help you deal with targets that are farther away, like snipers. The mobility aspect of the game is great too. Not only can you sprint, but you can also do parkour by jumping along walls, which can help you get to places you couldn't normally access. Then there are the various mercenaries within the game, each with their own unique roles, playstyles, and personalities too! You can do cool stuff like call down airstrikes, revive allies from afar with an electric railgun, deploy a portable shield that can block bullets, grenades and rockets, and even activate a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ orbital laser to disintigrate your enemies!

Sorry, got a little carried away there, but you (probably) get my point. There's so many great aspects about this game, but unfortunately the game has seen a decline since the start of 2018, which breaks my heart. I love this game, but I can't play it anymore since my PC is old and I get subpar framerate when playing (and there are of course the issues I mentioned above).

Which brings me back to the question, "Should I get this game?"

Well, if you're looking for a unique fps game (or a blend of your favorites), then I would recommend this game to you. Just...be prepared for all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that you'll go through, both in-game (you will have to deal with seemingly overpowered mercenaries, noob teammates, and veteran players who will wipe the floor with you) and outside the game (be prepared for the developers to make unnecessary and infuriating changes. Also, stay away from the Dirty Bomb subreddit, it's full of toxicity at the moment.) This game is not for the faint of heart (you could probably figure that out by reading the game's description), but it is definitely fun once you get past all that.

As for me, I'm gonna take a break from this game for a while, at least until i get a better PC, and hopefully (I'm hoping against hope here) that the game will get better. As much as I hate the developers at this point, I still love this game, and I want to come back to it eventually.
