Essentially a demo for visuals, character movement and sound design at this stage. However, shows great promise if it were to be expanded upon!

Seriously great game. The attention to detail, the interesting story and awesome sci-fi elements are top notch. Perhaps a little short for the price tag, but I have payed more for games that weren't half of this.

I’m generally not a fan of platformers… However, this game deserves an exception.

Pro’s:
+ Controls feel fair.
+ Awesome art style.
+ Awesome sounds.
+ Fast paced.
+ Hard as nails. (I might just be awfully bad)
+ Developers active and helpful! :)

"Con’s":
- A heavy metal music pack would suite this game nicely :>

TL;DR
Buy it.

I have been using AGK for a few years now, way before it was on steam. I can only say that I like it. The language is simple and great for hobbyist coders like myself, but nuanced enough to enable you to create great 2D games.

It is not perfect, but the forums are full of helpful people who can put you back on track. As a 3D game solution I would look elsewhere, but for 2D games I see very few reasons to not use AGK.

Remember, this is not a drag and drop editor. As with most things, AGK won't make games for you.

A summary...
Pros -
  • Simple language that is easy to learn
  • Quite good documentation, example projects
  • Great forum (https://forum.thegamecreators.com/)
  • Handles thousands of sprites, animated sprites and particles smoothly
  • Broadcast feature is great

Cons -
  • 3D is rather primitive at the time of writing this
  • Although development continues, it feels that AGK is sometimes left behind with regards to the attention other TGC products are given.
  • No Tier 1 .DLL support.
  • Perhaps a liiiiiiiiitle pricy for a hobbyist program (I payed around 50€ - before steam)
