This game is easily the best game I have ever played in my life. This game's plot is incredibly in depth and well thought out. I wont spoil anything in this review, but it has an fantastic story line filled with romance and betrayal. There is a great suprise ending. All of the characters have well written back stories and have great character progression. One of the robots' stories had me literally in tears by the end of the game. Her story has inspired me to reform my shallow life. The characters in this game have more depth to them than most people I know.

The gameplay to this masterpiece is very good as well. I would say that this game might be mechanically too difficult for the average casual gamer, but for truely hardcore gamers it will challenge you and truely push you to your limits. Gamers seeking a challenging game that they can seek to master will absolutely love steamworld dig. There are many different ways one can go about trying to accomplish the main goal of the game; "digging". First, and most important, is using the pickaxe to break appart blocks in order to collect resorces. This might seem like a realatively easy task, but it gets more difficult as the game goes on. Luckily there are other ways to accomplish this "digging". You can use the drill and steam punch later on in the game to quickly and efficiantly dispose of pesky blocks. This will however drain one of your important resorces; "water". Managing this "water" resorce while maintaining rapid "digging" rates is one of the most important ways to improve your effectiveness in steamworld dig. This all may sound pretty complicated and technical. Sorry to disapoint casual players, but it is. Steamworld dig has an extremely high skill floor. Masters will be delighted to find it has a very high skill ceiling as well. Because of the high skill ceiling and the indepth plot steamworld dig has very high replay value. I know I have logged hundreds of hours into this game just to experience all of the outcomes.

Steamworld dig has the best graphics out of any game released so far (to my knowledge). The robots and an insane level of detail and the dirt blocks look more real than the dirt outside my house. Truely the artists that put together the visuals should be praised for their attention to detail and their ability to create 3d models that bring this game to life. I have spent hours in steamworld dig just walking around so I could full appreciate the detail and craftsmenship of the game's artists. Once, during a 24 hour marathon, I forgot I wasnt in real life. I would recomend getting this game even just to observe the graphics. Its hard to make comparisons to other games because steamworld dig is just so far ahead of any other game.

Overall I would recomend this game to anyone who wants a beautiful, challenging, and well written game. This is my favorite game of all time and I hope it can soon be yours as well!
