Its a brilliant concept executed somewhat poorly.

The idea that you design a civilization from the ground up is interesting. However random events are often so punishing that it does not really matter what you do. Because those random events will to some degree railroad you. As such the early game is the most enjoyable part of the game. Because at that point you have the most control over your civiliation as nothing is too complex yet. Late and middle game I often find myself ignoring whatever is going on on screen and just clicking the buttons i think will do what I want. Because I dont ever really feel like I learn anything while playing this game.

UI is a bloody mess and about 50% of it is my fault. You drop the spheres onto the screen and are responsible for organizing them. However such organization always falls short with random events and new spheres which just turn up as you progress through the age. I think this game would be great to play on a TV or Cinema screen but on my screen it feels like everything becomes clustered, despite me trying to keep things organized.

Its not really like the democracy games if that is what you are looking for. But you can get some of the same feeling from it. On a sale I 100% recommend this game. If you cant get it on sale be sure what you are getting into.

This is a visual-novel not a political simulation game. The tags are largely not accurate. Thats why I downvote. This was sold to me as a political simulation game. Its not.

For a visual-novel I guess its alright, except that you cant be a good President and not get divorced. So meh 3-4/10. Felt like I had done everything I wanted to do after the first run. Played a few more for the hell of it, but meh. Having played it, I reckon I rather would have had the 16-18$. Worldbuilding is pretty cool though.

Its a towerbuilding game. Gameplay is fairly repetative. And that is to be expected. Its all about finding those small tweaks which make this tower the greatest tower and thats how its supposed to be. So good on the dev for that.

What I have never felt the need for however is manual maintence of my tower. This imo is something which needs to be fixed right away. It has much the same feel to it as Simtower, Ytower or even project highrise. But I dont feel like it adds anything to the mix. In fact due to the fact I have to manually do maintence I would say quality of life has gone down.

I dont like the UI. I might be alone in that or it might just take some time getting used to.

Price is as Im writing this (11.06.21) 145 NOK. Which is somewhere between 10 & 15 €. That feels a bit too steep.

All in all at this point in time I dont think I could recommend it. More so at this price point. If you love towersims and can get it on a sale? Sure go ahead. Somewhere between a 3 & 4 if I were to toss a dice.

You have to get the piece of ♥♥♥♥ launcher. You cant play Multiplayer without a Paradox account. If I wanted a paradox account or a launcher outside of steam I would buy it from Paradox and not on steam. Sadly cant get my money back.

I enjoy the game. Its a game you can sit down and play without having to dedicate an entire evening to it. However with Paradoxs new launcher I cannot recommend anyone to buy this game. I paid for the game. I dont want paradox selling my data. I dont want their piece of ♥♥♥♥ launcher. Yet it is thread over my head. ♥♥♥♥ Paradox.

Got this game as a gift. So I did not have to spend money on it. I have very few hours but there is a reason for that. The game is really unplayable.

Tutorial is beyond ♥♥♥♥. Cant really figure out what Im doing and no clear path to figure out what I am to do. I know its still in ea but people have been waiting for this game for 4 years. I am really surprised to see how early it still is. To be honest a real disapointment.

That the asking price is 145 NOK ( $ 15-20) is insane even if it is ea. Do yourself a favour and dont buy this game. Maybe if they patch it up it will be worth your cash. For now stay clear.

"Remember to be polite is what steam says. Okay Lets try
Tl:dr Hard if you like me have no idea how to build an engine, Time Consuming but very rewarding when you do manage to do things right.

This is without a doubt the most frustrating game I have ever played. It is an absolute pain in the... Lower areas. You honestly want to throw your computer into the wall and then have at it with a sledge hammer.

You spend time reading guides and tutorials because you have to build the entire bloody engine from scratch. And Lord have mercy if you miss one of those darn blots and nuts, Your car is not going to run. So you have to redo it. Eating annother 5 or so hours of your time.

Cars get stuck. Roads simulate country roads in Northern Europe rather realistically. They are a pain to drive on. You do however have superpowers due to your Finnish Sisu so you can often solve the issue yourself. But if you muck it up you are in deep deep depp ... And you will have to reload.

Reload Mechanism is cumbersome to deal with. And you do honestly need to save often. The "Survival asspect" is no problem. And feed the feeling of being on a summer holiday.

Game is awefully addicting. And when you do manage to do something right you are in bliss. And you can enjoy that summerholiday feel.

I love Civilization. I really really do. I got this game as a gift so atleast I did not pay any money for it. As it stands I would not recommend anybody except the hardcore die-hard fanboys of Civilization to buy this game. And to them I say that this game should be in your libary as a reminder that even the best can fail. If you are going to get it, Get it on a sale.
So for the pro and cons

Pro:
- It is a new game. You have played Civilization for half a billion hours allready you know the game as the back of your hand. This is an opertunity to try something new and have to learn the game again.
- It can look very nice. Round 400 and your map will look populated. It looks like and feels more like you have actually been having a civilization there and not only been having an eternal sprawl of farms and mines as fare as the eye can see.
- Districts is a very good idea. They make you have to think. But the thinking is very easly automated. Your City feels more like the capital of a Province
- Harbours is a district, You can now build a Harbour or a port town to your city. You avoid the old civ trap of building by the sea and having 1/2 tiles in your city being useless. By building a city somewhat inland you can still have ships.

Cons
-The AI, It is awefully silly. The agenda system is nothing but annoying. I think a trait system would be better like in Civ 4.
- It takes too much time. Be that to load to process, My Computer is not the newest but we have the same issue with people I know who have newer and better computers. Every turn demands huge amounts of thinking. At times I just want to click on Enter and not die.
- The person who was thinking turning the workers into builders should be ...... up the ... with a steel pipe. Each builder gets to start with 3 builds. When those builds are used you have to build a new builder. On the plus side atleast you get as many repairs as you want. You do not need as many improvments as you did in Civ 4 or Civ 5 but it is still a pain having to build and send the Builders out. No more automation for you
- The Civs and their leaders. How is Kongo a great civilization? It is hardly has Civilization today! Cathrine de Medici as leader of France? Where is my Napoleon!? Some steppe nation we know little about with a leader we know even less about. Frankly I think they have chosen the civs to meet a diversity qouta. It is silly. And to rub salt in the wound you give Australia as a DLC?

I really want to love this game. I want to spend each and every hour I have on it. I want it so badly to be a good game. Maybe there will come some updates in the future that will mix everything? Until it does frankly I am heart broken as a Civ fan for this.... Failure of a Civ game.

Because of my love of the series 3/10.
