After playing rhythm games, specifically stepmania and osu for like 10+ years on and off i came here on a friends request i should try this out.
I have never felt so bad about my skill in gaming, its like i never played these games before i cant even clear what feels like easy maps, if i go into the song browser it specifically tells me to search for easy songs.
I feel insulted and terrible.
Great game though

My favorite Rhythm Game, on steam or anywhere else.

And this is coming from someone with an Osu account with on and off active playing since May 2011 and tons of hours in Stepmania.

If you like asian rhythm games this is about as good as youre gonna get it, from the amount of content once you get the dlc to the actual song selection its all as close as a closed source game without real mods or anything can get to perfect

A neat short adventure game in a style similar to Legend of Zelda from a unique perspective switching between the 3 main Characters.
As seen in the Screenshots and Trailer the game is graphically somewhere around the PS1 era and got that clunky crusty visual style which has its own charm in my opinion.

I should say again the game is very short, my first playthrough took around 1.5 hours and I still have to do a second one at the time of writing this.

The controls arent very refined and sometimes some jumps can be a bit frustrating but overall I'd say if you want a short adventure and especially if youre already a touhou fan its probably worth picking up.

[This game has a VR Mode it doesnt really tell you about on the steam page and I'd say its pretty okay!]

First of all I should mention that this is a bit of a horror to play for non Chinese or Japanese people, as the translation to english is barely coherent at all. It's bad, but it's something I guess.

However the story is pretty simple and if you have a basic understanding of how most of these touhou fangame stories go (There is a random incident, Reimu is too lazy to do anything, you go from house to house to check if someone is the culprit), you should feel at home fairly easily.

I cannot speak for the performance or the controls on a regular PC setup as the game sort of forced me to play in VR-Mode once it realized I had an Oculus VR-Headset connected, but I just went along and after somewhat understanding how to use the controls after a 20 minute trial and error session, the game began to be pretty good and kept me interested until I stopped due to motion sickness about an hour later from then!

(I am not great with free turn locomotion in games, so freeflight in all directions is sure to mess me up, you should know what you're comfortable with before playing these types of games, I would say you need to be pretty much unaffected by motion sickness at all to not get there at some point with this game, but I don't mind that a lot)

I think the hardest to grasp was how to use weapons in the first place.
For that you need to hold a Button on the left Controller (I think it was X on my Oculus controller) and then use the right stick to toggle the weapons on or off. Multiple can be on at once but drain more magic, you'll get it from here.
Another Tricky one was how to open the map, that was by first pressing the Y button on the left controller and then the B Button on the right controller.

I really hope this game gets some people Interested, I think it deserves it. Also Touhou games in VR need rep in general!

I mean I only just started playing this but I am in love and I wish this to be continued.

Edit: Ever since the Bullet Hell Update I can only recommend this more. Some people made amazing stuff and if you love Bullet Hell games like me, this could even easily satisfy that scratch if you find the right levels!

This game.

I have maybe only played for 1.1 hours (which has been all in 1 session that felt like it flew by in only a few minutes) but I can already tell this game has a great amount of potential

The only issue a lot of people might have with it at this moment (me included) is the amount of songs in the game, which is fairly low. However it seems there is a editor in the works for custom maps which is just amazing and is gonna add so much to the game.

Sure for 20$ this game might be a little short of content but if you wanna show someone VR or a game where you hack through Neon Blocks with a freaking Lightsaber, this might just be the game to do it.
((I can also greatly recommend it for fans of games such as Osu, DDR, Stepmania, ...)

Just try it, its amazing and you can get a great glimpse of what the game is like before the time where steam wont allow you to turn it back in so even if you dislike it or dont think its ready at this state you still got that option at your disposal.

Das Spiel ist auf jedenfall etwas für alle die gerne mit dem Feuer spielen, es hat keine tiefe Story, es hat keinen tiefen Sinn, ABER dafür hat es einen total Sympatischen und irgendwo (für mich) tiefgründigen stil, den man irgendwie nicht oft sieht.

Es ist einfach nur.. nunya... bevor ich sage das es hammernice ist muss ich sagen das es warscheinlich nicht JEDER spielen kann/sollte da es für manche (ich weiß nicht was alle haben) total schwer und unfair ist.. aber das Spiel an und für sich ist sooo nice.. Und man kann relativ unendlich viel Zeit damit verbringen da es eigendlich kein wirkliches Ende hat wenn man so will.
