Fun game but runs like ♥♥♥♥ half the time. Editings settings and ini's don't help at its seemingly random fps problems. If posible play on console for the more stable performance.

Fun game but best if bought on sale.

It's a shame what great potential this game had. I tried it a few years ago and was off-put by the levels of p2w so I took a break. Each time I came back it was worse.

If you played Tropico 4 and want a shiny new tropico with all the bess and whistles, stay with Tropico 4. Now Tropico 5 is by no means a bad game, hence why I'm recomending it, but it isn't what it could have been. While on the base 5 may be slightly lacking compared to 4 when the dlc is added the difference is really shown. While 5's dlc added in things that should have been there, and new things, 4 did the same... only with the entire modern times expansion. But wait, you may say, 5 has the time progression built in. That's true, but most of it is artificial blockages on buildings and abilities.

That being said, the adjustable pop limits, shiny new (in 2014) graphics, research, traiding, and minor added depth makes this a reccomendation if you are looking for a new city builder/country runner that is at a fair price, especcially on sale.

Fantastic game. Though I never really touch the realism game modes the arcade mods are fun. The bots are often a little screwy but still are fairly balanced. When with real players the limited number of people per class really balances the game. Though unbalanced and on perpose is the weapons. The Germans always have better weapons than the Russians. Though historically accurate it automaticly puts the Russian at a disadvantage. If you also have Rising storm purchased Red Orchestra 2 is in the same game skin as RS which is odd having the pacific theme and yet being able to go play on the western front. Though rising storm doesn't have its own campaign the multiplayer is fairly balanced. Though possible I haven't noticed a weapon balance difference like in RO2. Though both sides have advantages. The Japanese can do a bonzai charge similar to the Russian charge, giving them a bonus. As well as the ability to do grenade suicides with out penalties. Though the Americans get a flame thrower, which is really, really, powerful. 9/10

A visual stepup from the the previous EU, with similar mechanics but a little more victoria 2 like. Better core creation, conversion, and culture change. The buildings and tech "tree" is also different from III but could be improved. Both use the same points, so if you build all thoses drydocks you might not be able to research that tech. But there are mods that remove that and make it cash only for buildings. The economy is also different than III by a little bit, but better. It also has steam workshop support which is really nice though most mods disable ironman mode which is the only way to get achievements. Still fun and is still changing. Since launch the colony system has had a total work around. Be warry of paradox's dlc system, as they are often overpriced for too little, though the expansion packs are fantastic. Overall a 8/10.
