Edit: After completing the game, I have to say the last boss is one of the worst they've ever made. It's a sensory overload of useless particle effects that make your PC lag and make it impossible to see what move they're about to do. Unless you use a specific built (aka, not magic, ever), it's just not fun. Up until that point, other than Gaius, perfect DLC. Mesmer is great, there's some other bosses that are great, but there's also tons of repetition, random enemies that are way too strong for no reason, and the odd boss which are just abysmal.

The DLC just kind of... ends once you finish it. There's no cool cutscene, it just kind of ends. It feels so cheap and not worth it at all.

If you absolutely love Elden Ring, get it, but I doubt you'll have fun with the last boss.

I think the scenery is beautiful and the "plot" is vague but intriguing enough.

The only performance issue I've had so far is sometimes the lighting bugs and makes everything far too dark. I hope they fix it, but it's not a massive issue.

As for the difficulty, I killed the dancing lion first try with summons. I know that's not the "purist" way of playing, but if you're like me and only have an hour or so to play every now and then, it's really not that difficult. I killed Blackgaol Knight first time solo as well. The hardest fights so far have been the larger mobs. They are really over-tuned, considering you can't stagger them (I play 2H colossal sword).

Are the bosses fun? Blackgaol Knight is one of my favourite fights in the game so far, but probably a bit too easy. His moves are really predictable. While the dancing lion was a spectacle, the fact he is so large and has so much hair/clothing, means you can't really see what's happening most of the time.

But yeah, if you're struggling and getting frustrated, just use summons, it's why they're there.

So much of it sucks, like the Rune Bear and Black Blade Kindred and many, many other bosses/enemies, as well as the targeting system, frame stutters and much more. But it's an incredible game and it's so unique. There's an unbelievable amount of things to do and I haven't even found some of the main bosses yet.

This game makes me feel so nostalgic. It brings me back to the first time I played Runescape and World of Warcraft. It brings me back to the first time I played Minecraft back in Alpha over ten years ago. It is a very grindy game, but the grind isn't repetitive. It always has something new happening. There are a whole bunch of enemies, armour and weapons to delve into.

The base building is arguably the best I have ever seen. I have my improvements that I would offer, like a better system to flatten the Earth which, at the moment, sucks. Overall, the base building is fun, realistic, rewarding and beautiful. You can truly create some spectacular houses in some beautiful landscapes.

The combat isn't great, but it has potential. The block mechanics, dodging and parrying are all good, but the swinging animations are very repetitive. With time, I can see the combat being very enjoyable. The AI combat as well isn't very good as they often run in circles to find you even when there is nothing between you and them.

This game has buckets of potential. Buckets upon buckets. If you are wondering if you can play this game alone: I do and I'm having a blast. The beautiful soundtrack along with the relaxing feeling of the meadows, make Valheim's down time feel serene. The change in music when entering into combat or into the black forests, however, wakes you up and makes you realise this game isn't always a walk in the park. I have died a few times, being caught out by Shaman and other groups of mobs.

Overall, I would give the game in its current state the follow ratings:

Combat: 3 - It's just repetitive.
Graphics: 7 - The landscape is beautiful but the character model is very poor. This will change very soon, I think.
Plot: 8 - There isn't much plot, but just enough to make you interested in pushing forward. I hope they bring more AI into the future of the game. This will make building cities much more enjoyable. I think they should add a similar system like Terraria, where the AI will join you once you build certain things.
Crafting: 9 - It's difficult at first but intuitive.
Base Building: 9 - There are some changes I would make, as mentioned above, but overall it's excellent.

Overall I think this game, in its current form, is very good. It has some glaring issues such as the poor and hard-to-understand terraforming and poor AI pathing, but it has unlimited potential. I feel that in three years, this could be known as one of the most played games of all time. I really hope the devs give this game all the love and hard work that it deserves!

The most overrated game of all time. The characters and plot are generic. Geralt is just a tough gruff man with a deep voice and scars banging his way through hundreds of women and millions of monsters. The graphics are decent, the enemies are a good balance but the combat system is painful. The controls aren't smooth and the combat feels like I have no idea if I'm actually doing damage or how to dodge their attacks. The game is good, it's well main, the animations are amazing. But overall I got bored very quickly.

Best game I've ever played hands down. Control are a little bit funny which means that some fights get quite difficult. But the story line is absolutely incredible. I got just under 12 hours of gameplay and I looked around every nook and cranny in each scene, which is exactly what you should do as well.

BUY IT
