Whilst it isn't perfect and there's a bunch of stuff missing that I feel could've lessened the blow between moving from HF1 to 2 (things like workshop support and a bit of gardening, etc) this game is still very good.

Having introduced co-op will make the game even more replayable as my wife and I will no doubt create houses for each other to work on and I'll hold out hope for workshop support as the community added so many amazing items to HF1.

I'll look forward to the DLCs and so far, It's nice to give the game a thumbs up again! Great work FD! :)

Despite refunding due to not being able to log into servers when I tried to get back into the game (having arthritis and having to endlessly scroll down the list to reach a server that had space made this harder, come on guys, it's 2023 - use a filter!) from what I DID manage to play, was actually alright.

After the intro I was introduced to a plot of land where you can build your own home, which whilst cool - would've been something nice to actually earn as opposed to freely given.

After that I accepted a mission to loot a few bits for the colony, which...little did I know was a heckin' long walk.

So I stashed my extra guns and made my way into the city, not knowing what to expect. Would everyone be occupied with zombies and objectives? Of course not.

Within a minute of leaving Woodbury I was shot at by another player, so I legged it and hid in a grocery store where I took out some zombies, only to somehow set off the stores alarm system so legged it again before anyone showed up. After 15 or so minutes of avoiding zombies and gunfire I made it to my destination only to be gunned down immediately.

All this was quite exciting, I closed steam to check my playtime, jumped back in to spend my commiseration coins on a cheap loadout and get looting, but the damn servers said no!

So - refund...I'll keep an eye on development but until the servers calm down and they add a way to filter out full ones, I'll be sitting on the sidelines.

Another fantastic bite sized entry to the series.

TL;DR - 9/10 - Takes the classic duo puzzling formula and offers a bite sized adventure for you to enjoy.

For those that aren't familiar, the We Were Here games involves you and a friend/loved one/stranger splitting up and solving puzzles that interact and change based on the other persons inputs. This requires you to relay information constantly and normally against a timer of some kind to keep the pressure up.

This makes for some exciting (and sometimes frustrating) moments and it's really satisfying when the end credits roll.

This game takes that formula and offers a smaller adventure which was a joy to play. The puzzles were very cleverly thought out and had us scratching our heads as we wanted to achieve the best possible ending - so claim it whilst it's free so you don't miss out!

TLDR - The Starfield main story was good from start to finish, albeit a bit repetitive. Combined with the decent visuals and music score I'll give it a 7.5/10.

The concept of Starfield was a game that should've truly been "out of this world" but ultimately it felt like the vast galaxy we got to play around in had about as much depth as a puddle.

That's not to say I didn't enjoy the 40 odd hours I have played for so far.

The main story line has you joining a group of adventurers in the hunt for artefacts in order to solve a mystery that's been bugging them. This involves you repeating the same mission a few times, go to planet A, then B, then C, to get these artifices and meet new companions along the way.

About half way through there was a pretty good plot twist and from then I was hooked, I had to see how the game ended and the finale felt like an epic conclusion to a rather mediocre journey, which felt pretty strange.

I'm also very conflicted on how the ending panned out - spoilers below.

It was very clever how the ending weaved in the option of a NG+ and feel quite fortunate that I'd played the game the way I had, but I imagine someone who'd put in far more time than I had, building outposts, getting wealth, amazing ships and built ties with factions to then be told you have to leave that all behind might irk some people. Not to mention that you're baited into doing so as personally I felt like I NEEDED to know if the NG+ mode panned out different considering I was now Starborn and knew how events planned out. I needed to abandon my old universe as there was another mystery to solve in the form of, was there anything different this time around?

Post main story, I'll continue to sink more time into Starfield but I don't think I'll be very compelled to do so long term as I imagine most faction jobs work out similar, regardless of the role they play, "go to location x and do y, blow up x ships belonging to y" etc and with the majority of POIs and locations on planets being very similar, I don't know if I'll feel the thrill of discovery as I did within my first 20 or so hours.

Ultimately it was a good ride. The story was okay, the visuals were really nice and the soundtrack was decent and enough to keep me invested to see the main story through to the end, but will it be enough to bring me back to continue my adventures through the stars? That remains to be seen.

Ravenous Devils is short and not so sweet (there's a lot of gore) game that has you juggling table orders for guests, clothes making for the locals and food prep where anything goes when it comes to the menu.

The game gradually gets a bit more hectic as you unlock more recipes and upgrades and eventually builds to what I felt was a bit of an abrupt ending.

All in all, it was a good game where a few of the animations had me wincing and laughing all in good measure. 7/10

It really pains me to change this to a negative review.

I initially gave it a positive one, as I played a bunch of EA and was really hopeful for where this game would go.

After a year in EA - we've had a smattering of updates which, sadly, didn't feel very substantial and then, almost out of nowhere, the announcement to push for 1.0 came.

After spinning up the game and spending a few hours in 1.0 on a friends account - I reflected on my first few hours during EA and it feels like nothing had changed. A few new buildings, an umbrella...I didn't really notice much else.

The murders still had no real motive...the side jobs are either a nice distraction, or so limited in information they're almost impossible and for a few quid, hardly seem worth the time.

All in all, I'll summarise with this.

If you have NEVER played the game, give it a go as it does offer something unique and there's content to be enjoyed here.

I feel most of the negative reviews are from EA players who have followed this game and are just disappointed - is it an awful game? No. Do I feel development ended on a rather underwhelming note? Yeah, I think so.

Against The Storm is a far cry from your normal city builder.

Hundreds of hours building your perfect city with amazing supply chains? Hell no! Citizens that are all the same? Nu-uh! A roguelite? Hell yes!

The game from my experience so far revolves around you going on expeditions for your qwen who bosses you around and gets annoyed if you take too long.

Satisfying the qwen (hue hue) will lead to victory! As settlements aren't supposed to last forever and once her majesty is happy you'll be moving on to the next settlement, starting from scratch.

The fruits of your labour will go into upgrading a central mega-settlement which kinda reminds me of how you'd build cities in HOMAM for those that know. This will provide you with advantages going into your next expedition such as calming the qwen tf down so she doesn't get aggy, more resources to start with and more control over what your population consumes in terms of resources.

Populations involve different fantasy races coming together to take advantage of each others talents. Humans can farm better, lizards like cooking in warm buildings so bake my bread, beavers chop wood faster (quel suprise) and harpies like making clothes - to name a few things.
Each race also has its own particular set of needs - neglecting these needs for too long and the fact the forest is getting continuously angrier at you for cutting down its babies means they'll leave, which makes the qwen even grumpier!

Once you've won or lost a few games a magic tornado comes along and wipes all your settlements out, essentially resetting the world map, the surrounding biomes and all the potential bonuses which makes for an amazing loop when it comes to replayability.

This all collides together into an addictive experience that has you micro managing your population, picking your bonuses and rewards carefully for optimal settlement building and learning that time is precious so doing things, but FASTER.

Did I mention that the game also seems to get a meaningful update every TWO WEEKS?! This is unheard of and the developers clearly love their game to bits - and so do I!

I'll update the review accordingly, but so far, so good! I'm hooked and I'm excited to see what the future holds.

Inscryption is a game you'll either spend 10 hours playing or well over 100. The main game itself is very much story driven and has to be played to be appreciated so no spoilers here. During the game you'll be drip fed loads of cryptic information that you could spend a long time breaking down and figuring out and once the credits roll you now have the option to play via a mini DLC that turns the game into an endless roguelike. All in all Inscryption was a game that I wanted more of - but ultimately am satisfied with what I got - It's creepy, fun and downright funny at times and I highly recommend it. 9/10

I wish there was a "meh" or sideways review button because this is where I'm at with Little Nightmares. The gameplay is pretty simple - a platform game with a few puzzle elements in a setting that isn't just creepy it's downright horrifying at times which was incredible to see. But it's bogged down by the fact that it's not only too short (it took me roughly 2 hours) but I didn't understand who I was or WHY I was doing what I was doing. Nothing was really explained and it shouldn't take external sources, dlc or forums for me to find out the character has a name. There's a bit too much left open for me to figure out and it wasn't really compelling enough for me to do so, despite the amazing setting. What the game did well was make me feel really insignificant in a world that's clearly bigger than my character is (both figuratively and literally) hence my "sideways" review. Ultimately if you like platforming games and are happy with the length described in reviews, give it a go, but in my personal opinion you aren't missing a great deal if you sleep on the game.
