i dont mean to exaggerate but this is the greatest game of all time

It's just a really good boomer shooter. The gameplay is standard for your typical shooter, but the game just oozes charm and personality. While you're playing you know the dev had a lot fun making the game too. I can't remember the last time a game had me smiling from beginning to end.

Must buy for fans of boomer shooter resurgence.

Was interested in this for several reasons: Dusk dev, I was reminded of the Metalocalypse episode/song "Blood Ocean", and the submarine. The atmosphere and sound did a really good job of making me nervous. My favorite part of the game though was using the map for coordinates to figure out where to go, and had there been more POI's I probably would have got a pen and pad out and started jotting down where I wanted to go instead of repeating the coordinates to myself over and over again lol. Overall a good short game that'll take about an hour to finish.

Although my playtime is only 2 hours currently, I wanted to leave a positive review anyway. I had a lot of fun during those 2 hours and I'm sure I'll enjoy the rest of the game. This game's combat is a bit different than the original trilogy so I could see someone not enjoying this game if they're super die-hard fans of God of War 1-3. I myself enjoy the combat of the original trilogy more so far, but that's not to say that this game's combat isn't fun. It's just different and takes a bit adjusting to realize this is God of War now. Again, not bad - different.

Growing up I was a big fan of the God of War trilogy, so I was happy when I heard this game was coming to Steam. Which is also the real reason I'm writing this review after so little playtime; to express gratitude. Thank you for releasing God of War on PC, Sony, but please give us more. I want Ratchet & Clank, Bloodborne/Demon's Souls, Infamous, Ghost of Tsushima, and Spider-Man. ♥♥♥♥, give us the original Ratchet & Clank trilogy (or future trilogy or both), Sly Cooper trilogy/thieves in time, Jak and Daxter trilogy, Killzone, Resistance, anything else. Please, you have so much and you've given Horizon: Zero Dawn and Days Gone; games I could not care less about. All the games I listed above would be day 1 buys for me, and I'm sure for many others too. There's a market here. We want to play your games. I see that Uncharted 4 (would be cool if you can get the first 3 games on here too sometime) is releasing sometime this year so thank you for that. I also want to say I am happy that Horizon and Days Gone are on PC. I think it's good that games are on as many platforms as possible, so I do appreciate it. It's just that God of War was the first release that I cared about personally.

Disappointing. To me this game is the epitome of wasted potential.

It took me about 20 hours to 'break the loop' and there were some cool and fun moments, but they never really lasted long. Often times I was asking myself "what's the point?" I came to this part of the island, did my objective, so why don't I just go? And when the credits rolled I thought to myself "that's it?" which is pretty funny considering this game took me 20 hours to beat. It did not feel like I played this game for 20 hours at all. If steam wasn't keeping track of the time and you asked me I would have guess about 10 or so.

The biggest problem is that Deathloop, to me, never really felt like it got started. You play through the beginning with all the tutorial pop ups and then you get a few cool powers and guns and you think "Oh, that's pretty cool", and then it's over. Deathloop feels like the foundation of a really cool and better game that we did not get, and I think that's the problem for me. It's that when I'm playing I just think this thought over and over in my head that his could have been so much better than what it is, but instead it's average and what it does is done better in Prey and Dishonored. Maybe later down the line I'll appreciate this game more for what it is, but as of right now it's a step down.

I would only recommend this game on sale and if you're a fan of Arkane. If you have 60 bucks to spare and are considering this game get Prey and Dishonored 2 instead. They're both 30 dollars. Or you could get Prey and Dishonored 1 which is 10 dollars. Don't get this for 60. Get Prey (like no matter what get Prey. it's so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ good, omg)

some really quick afterthought!:
-the sections, levels, whatever you wanna call them feel really small
-the infusion stuff is a neat idea. sacrificing and infusing items i liked
-i dont like that you have to keep killing the same targets to get a guaranteed slab upgrade. would have preferred if i got the slab and i have to complete some sort of challenge to upgrade them.
-lastly cannot speak about about playing as julianna because i didnt play that
-also game is rather easy? i died but i never lost a loop. the only time i did was when i killed myself 3 times to get the achievement (i also played singleplayer so i wasn't prone to invasions because i dont care about multiplayer in this game)

never was able beat a stage without flags on the 360 and still cant now </3
