Notice how most of the positive reviews come from random little accounts with a handful of games, no real playtime and nothing on them? Yeah theres a reason.

The game is utterly rotten to its core. Gaijin are a terrible game developer, One that if it wasnt for the fact this game struck a unoccupied, niche genre goldmine that has no competition, would of long faded into utter obscurity,

The game itself:
Awful economy thats continually nerfed to increase the already EXTREMELY slow progression. Your looking at several hundred hours per branch (ground / air) for major trees minimum. Less for minor trees. Thats with a premium account doubling your research gain and playing to a average or higher level.

Awful balance.
They know this, we know this, They just dont care and dont ever attempt to fix the blatantly broken balance.

Map design.
This game has some of the worst map design you will ever come across in a arena type game. Extremely poorly balanced maps that often have 1 side being able to sit behind hard cover and snipe at the other sides exposed, unprotected spawn. Thats before adding the points on the map your not supposed to be able to get to, but can and become near unkillable because of cover and the fact no one looks there, because you arent supposed to be able to reach there.

Pricing.
Yes, This is a F2P. No, That does not excuse the fact a single vehicle (many of which are reskins with a new gun at best) costs the same price as a brand new, AAA game. The game asks for a Lambo's asking price and delivers a Lada in that regard.

Bugs.
Oh boy is this game riddled with bugs. From damage models not working properly, Sound just outright breaking, vehicles rendering in and out of view at any range, Map glitches, Graphical issues, Ghost shells, Ghost vehicles, tracers not appearing.... And this is just a few off the top of my head. The game is riddled with bugs ranging from annoying to game breaking and Gaijin rarely if ever, bother fixing anything of substance. Its even worse when they launch a patch as there is NO quality assurance at all.

Mechanics.
What used to be the games strong point is now a major issue. Since the introduction of Voloumetric ammo and armour, the damage models have been extremely inconsistant and unreliable - Purely due to Gaijins awful implementation of the system. Armour overlaps causing the armour to jump from say, 120mm protection to over 2000, Shells not penetrating armour how they should or bouncing off random bits of sheet metal (This is more a symptom of the AWFUL physics this game uses). And now with overpressure, a system that launched UTTERLY broken and ridiculous and is still broken as all hell after a couple of patches designed to tone it down.... Yeah. Mechanically this game is a disaster nowadays and shows no sign of getting any better.

The game and Gaijin are rotten to the core. The game "back in the day" used to actually be quite good, But since around 2016 has been on a continual downward spiral thats rapidly accelerated over the last year. Gaijin were always lazy and somewhat incompetent, But the last few years and the last one especially they've doubled down on this. Everything they've done for the game since the start of 2020 has been negatively received and universally disliked.

If you arent invested already, Stay away. This game offers nothing and demands extreme amounts of time and/or money.

EDIT 2023 - Even worse. ♥♥♥♥ Gaijin.

Absolutely rife with cheaters. DICE have ignored the issue since Day 1 and the problem has only gotten worse.

Unfinished. Unpolished. Unbalanced.

The game is atleast a couple years out from being ready for a actual release. A large number of the features advertised back in the pre-EA trailers arent implemented or have been outright cancelled, Several skill-trees still dont work as they should, if at all and Sieges are laughable.

TaleWorlds have spent a year of EA (which they said 1 year was the target, which has now been extended to 2 years) floundering around and doing nothing of substance. Yes, There has been many patches but only a pittance have had anything of any substance in them. The near 10 year old predecessor provides more to do in the map to this day.

Dont get me wrong, It's not all bad and the game is much prettier and streamlined compared to Warband and aims alot higher, It's just hardly anything they showed off or advertised is actually there and with current pace of development and rumours that TaleWorlds is working on a new IP, I cant recommend a unfinished game that runs a risk of never actually being finished to anywhere close the standard that was promised.

Disappointing sums up Bannerlord perfectly in my opinion.

Relic wouldn't know balance if they caught it sleeping with their significant other. That and the F2P model stuck in the game...Avoid.
