Gameplay is great so far! Areas feel alive and lush, monsters look cool and are fun to fight, weapons feel really good to use and so forth. Story is fine but not really needed to enjoy the game but its presented well. Online and multiplayer works although a little weird to invite friends at first but not the worst thing ever.

For the bad part, the game performance can be really bad if you do not have a bit above the recommended specs to run the game. Seems to be poorly optimized and VERY cpu heavy. Depending on your preference it can be acceptable or unplayable. I run a 10700k cpu, 32 gigs of 3200 DDR4 ram and a 3080gpu and can get around 70 or 80 fps in 2k resolution. Weirdly even if i lowered to 1080p it didnt really help. I'm lucky for it to be playable but the game goes from ugly to insanely pretty with the new RE engine.

I'm digging the game, its great monster hunter just needs to have the performance fixed

Great game, runs well and only have had 1 Issue where it froze between a cutscene so far. My only complaint is the combat is still clunky like the first game, I was really hoping it would flow better than forcing you to lock and switch between targets. Either way the game is fun just like the first one.

Fun time with friends, would be nice if you started small and could spend money to upgrade the shop, equipment and adding a drive though since you kinda start with everything ready to go minus the food items. Its pretty easy to unlock everything but a more in depth progression would be fun. I also think cleaning should be part of the process with food contamination mechanics ect. Also you can kinda just make everything ahead of time and just leave it out all day, probably should have food warmers for burgers too since you can just spam make them with infinite time at the start. Also would be fun to buy items to decorate your shop to increase its popularity, adjust prices of food items or maybe create your own special menu people can order from every so often. Tons of potential with this game, I had a great time for what it is now. Solo players will have a harder time, manpower is very important in this game and there are not enough NPC to hire to help out unless you play on easy mode for now maybe

Personal Overview

This game is like a love letter to classic style of MMO's I played over 20 years ago. The world is huge and dangerous where playing carelessly will get you killed. The players and community have so far been friendly and welcoming to me as a new player. Building trust and relationships with your fellow comrade in arms means something because you will be relying on them to survive as well as them relying on you. Teamwork is a core game mechanic, this is the true definition of an MMO.

The World

The world feels huge and traveling to other major cities or areas could take 30 minutes to an hour of walking because fast travel is not a thing. There is no in game map so you have learn your areas or you can look online for a map to have until you get used to it. I saw a decent variety of enemies and gathering resources while exploring and barely have seen past the first area after 30 hours of doing my thing. Other secrets can be found if you are a skilled explorer :D

Gameplay and Combat

Pantheon uses a tab target style fighting. You use abilities that have cool downs with RNG mechanics where your attacks can miss, critical strike, resist ect. There are many spells and abilities in which you can swap in and out depending on what you are planning on fighting. Leveling is a slow burn and can take a while after lvl 5 however farming elite enemy spawns with a group will award you with the best exp, money and loot. Dungeons are not instanced so anyone can go in and out at any time so some may be congested depending on the server, time of day and such. Combat is challenging and engaging, the more you train with your class and gear up the more likely you will survive encounters. Enemies do not have lvls above their heads, you must scout the enemy ( press a key ) to check to see how dangerous they are. Failure to check the surrounding area to see if its safe to fight could mean certain death. After level 5 there is a death penalty meaning you drop your bags, money and lose a little exp if you are killed and will need to run to your corpse to get your stuff. You do not drop your weapons and armor thankfully and if you are resurrected you keep your exp and avoid the run.

Classes and Teamplay

There is a decent variety of classes to choose from however only some races can be certain ones.Starting stats vary from what race you choose but its not a huge difference if you are worried about mix/maxing. The game follows the trinity of roles such as Tanks, DPS, Healers/Support. From what I've played and seen each class plays their role well and brings much to the table when it comes to groups, many abilities synergize with other types of classes to bring a lot of value to what you are playing. I actually feel useful and the better I play the better it is for the group for us to survive together. With the fear and consequence of death you can really appreciate the players that put in the time to try to play well to keep you safe. The game has a built in Looking For Group but it only tells you who wants a group, you must reach out to actually start one, again the game promotes and encourages community.

Professions and Economy

There are around 8 different trades which you can choose up to two max per character. Picking two that compliment each other is recommended but not totally needed. You will be relying on other players from time to time since no one can just fill every role so make sure to reach out for any crafting help, most players are happy to assist because it helps them level their own trades. While you can only pick 2 professions you are able to gather all materials for everything so you can farm whatever you need and ask another player to craft if you cant. The crafting is fairly basic but fun and requires a bit of time and work to make items since you have to farm money for schematics to buy and create them plus gather the resources needed. There are rare schematics to find in the world to make unique and powerful gear than what you can buy in the vendors. Making money is hard at first but once you play for a bit it comes if you put in the time. There is no auction house at this time of review so if you want to sell items you gotta be in a town advertising. You can make really good money if you level up and farm high lvl mobs. dungeons with groups.

Final Impressions

I could say a lot about this game, its scratching an MMO itch ive had for many many years. It is not a perfect game, it is early access, all systems are not in place and overall UI isnt the best but works in its most basic forms for a decent experience. The servers have been very stable and I've had no crashes yet while playing. This game is not for everyone and definitely not for the solo or anti social player looking for an easy game. Pantheon is a hard, and will challenge you as an MMO player or player in general. If you crave a dangerous and wonderous world where community and making friends is a huge part of the experience then this may be a great pick. Take your time and gather information about what this game is and see if it is right for you, so far this has been the best MMO experience ive had in a very long time. Highly recommended and I hope this review helps.

Hard game, doesnt hold your hand and while its not perfect and has its issues It has been one of those unique gems of a RPG survival game. Sadly Co-OP story is only tied to the host player however all loot and stuff you find in your friends game you keep and take to yours and vice versa. I never found much issue with this because the story has concrete choices that change a lot as you play so there would not be much of a way to have 2 different players choose different paths and play the same game.

Combat is not perfect and fairly difficult early on, the game is not very beginner friendly but if you get past the initial learning curve there is a unique and stellar RPG world to discover.

Early Access Review
This game has a GREAT foundation and I cant wait to see what else they do with it. Reality is that it feels like early access however there is a good amount of content to play and I was able to play hours without any real issues. I notice people complain about the water system but it is easy to collect water and it last in real life days. In one playthrough I got around 30 water which means a month of real life time before running out. I really think this game is gonna be huge after some time and polish, probably the most fun ive had in a co-op game in a long time. I will say in order to get decent frames our group bought a thing off steam called Lossless Scaling which nearly doubled the frames when used with this game. Hopefully overtime they clean up the performance where it is not needed but for now its fine and still having a really good time. It is not a game for everyone specially in its current state but after like 12 hours of playing with friends I am very happy with the purchase. Oh yea the music and atmosphere is amazing.

My Specs
Windows 10
3080 gpu
32 gigs DDR4 Ram 3000hz
10700F Intel CPU

I run the game around 50fps but when I use Lossless Scaling that you can buy from stream for 7 bucks it bumped my FPS to average 80-90 FPS. I lowered the in game resolution to around 1600x1200 then increased the sharpness option and it looks like 2K resolution that I usually use. It works great for Forever Winter and so far with a few other games I tested its a game changer for sure.

Far more in depth survival/simulation than expected in a good way! Game looks wonderful with decent voice acting and missions to continue along the progress in the system. Recommended mode feels fairly hard at first when you are learning the ropes but once you get the systems down at driving, planning routes for jobs and vehicle maintenance then it all comes together. The game challenges you to properly plan your actions and do your best to be prepared for unexpected situations. Super fun game!
