Theres no other game like it out there IMO

it is also one of the few games that runs very well at 32:9 with correct UI placement

the recent update added a new map with much more verticality and longer sightlines than previous maps and the new version of the engine has improved the visuals quite a bit especially when lighting is involved

unfortunately the new update did also completely re-do the menus before you actually get into the game, these new menus were designed by aliens that do not understand humans, probably the worst pre-game UI i have ever seen, but they do not affect the actual gameplay

game is pretty good the different suits etc nicely varied and i have yet to really come across any suits that seemed overpowered

the current main issues with the game is ranked differences of more than 3K points will lock you out of playing with friends in any game mode so until that changes either always play ranked together or don't touch ranked

the free currency to buy suits with is in limited supply (currently 2K per battlepass + some from some beginner quests) this really does need sorting out and the game needs to give some as after game rewards at least once in a while

on the whole of the three overwatch like games i have played (overwatch paladins and this) this is currently one of the most fun its just a shame about the ranked and cap issues

now you're thinking with portals

actually installed this because i heard there was a teabag kill confirmed game mode on a thread about the new halo bots not teabagging (seriously 343i?) didn't realise there were portals spent a few games just shooting people in the back via portals

its an arena shooter everyone has the same loadout at the start of each match the MTX is cosmetics based (there is currently a battlepass but it seems to be a beta one with no premium track YET you can however buy BP levels)

i liked the payday 2 stealth i liked it better than the loud only missions

so i thought this game being done by the payday 2 guys (or at least their B team) would have stealth like payday 2

this game does not have stealth missions all missions i have found seem to be loud only (some let you stealth are the start but it always ends in loud noises)

single player is actually pretty good

multiplayer i do not like the jump pack (and movment as a whole) feels janky and horrible and the time to kill is far too low

i have came across a few hackers as well

if it is on sale buy the base game as the single player is actually ok don't bother too much with the multiplayer

so on my server i was part of a largeish guild called blackwell exports

before that guild collapsed due to internal issues pretty much everyone on the server had beef with three guilds: dark requiem and sin ley were spanish guilds and RED who were a russian guild

so blackwell and a bunch of other guilds got fed up of those three killing greens and stealing packs when we did runs up to freeditch for guilda (a hard to get currency needed to get the awesome things like boats cars and buildings) and we banded together to give them a right talking too leading to massive battles on freeditch and massive losses on either side

the three guilds after a week or so stopped doing so much pirating because it was evident that they had pissed off the entire haranya side of the server (the other side would just kill haranya anyway so no difference there) and trading to freeditch became slightly safer (greens would rarely gang up to kill greens on freeditch but reds would do that all the time if they noticed a large group of people going up there)

then RED more or less disappeared i later found out it was due to almost everyone using exploits and hacks (like the remove confirmation to put house down notice in order to place house faster hack) and then blackwell just died horribly after someone left with everything (because no one really let anyone else try and get ♥♥♥♥ for guild so there was just that person doing it so they had all the guild assets) i tried to keep the guild together got about 10 people into a new guild before that just collapsed slowly and then i joined unity after they had had an ownership change and massive restructure (no longer the cluster♥♥♥♥ of zerg) but then the leaders sort of left (as did i)

in short fun ♥♥♥♥ happened similar to the things you hear about in eve (big fights because some group of people ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with people too much so they got together to skull♥♥♥♥ the morons who started ♥♥♥♥) but the game is quite boring without a guild and patreon is almost a requirement (it more or less follows the runescape model there is free to play but its restricted to do everything get membership - still as an owner of a galleon i can quite easily join a guild and use that to bolster the guilds fleet on traderuns etc and they might even help me get a tradeship)

so tips for new players...

get a trade ship or a galleon as soon as possible guilds will ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love you (they both take guilda but you get quite a bit of guilda from questing to level up and there are the dailies that can net you about 10 guilda a day the galleon takes 250 guilda the tradeship more)

get a farm wagon/cart or whatever it is called very good for guild land trade runs and solo land trade runs (also loading and unloading boats)

oh and get into a guild and use teamspeak w/e and socialize doing guild events can be fun (and i was doing traderuns up to freeditch with blackwell when i was around level 30 so you will not be entirely useless at low levels in fact it was about that point where i actually stopped questing and just did traderuns to level up and i ammassed great wealth)

so lets drop some truth bombs here

the game is fun and no two games will ever go the same
i mostly play as the monster so i have little to add on the topic of the hunters but for the monster i might spend the entirety of one game sneaking around succesfully and getting to level 3 and then raping face
the next game however the hunters might have their game face on and might be harrasing you meaning you have to use speed and eat as much as possible before attempting to redirect the hunters and sneak around them in order to evolve

as for maps the ones i have played on are varied and just the right size and the layout is just right to allow the monster to move around and still give the hunters a chance to find it

performance: i have an i5 2500K clocked at 4.7GHz 8GB DDR3 1600MHz CL9 and an AMD 7970
the game with everything on max runs at a solid 60 all the time (many explosions might drop the framerate but that should be a given)

visuals: noice the texture quality is good and the particle effects and stuff are top quality

now for the thing that people are rage bonering over: the DLC

currently there are skins and nothing else (some people appear to think the kraken and wraith etc are DLC - they are not you unlock them by doing things with the previous monsters abilies (deal X damage or make it do the thing to a thing X times)

the skins might look nice depending on your preference i personally have not looked into them other than the fact yes they might be a bit overpriced but no one is forcing you to buy them they have no effect on gameplay

then there are the characters if you buy the PC monster race edition you get all 8 announced characters and the 5th monster (i have also been told the 4th one as well i have not confirmed this myself)

if not you can buy the hunter pass thing that gets you 6 of the characters and the monsters are apparently about a tenner each no idea about the 2 other hunters (i would advise just getting the pc monster race edition if you care about any of the additional characters)

now you are probably wondering characters as DLC? four words: maps game modes free
that means the community will not be split up between map packs and new game modes

granted it is possible that the new characters and monsters would be OP as ♥♥♥♥ but hey i already have never lost a game as a monster
