A pretty basic 2D ship shooter. Has some depth to it with multiple ship builds and different ships. It does get a little repetitve though with only a few proper side quests with the others simply being repeats

When the Zombies come into play things get more interesting and the Last Chapter I think is the best. Also Total Biscuit provides some voice work and RIP him. Overall not a bad game for the price and definately worth it on sale if you dont mind some of the grind

Fallout 4 Nuka World the final DLC is finally here and what a way to go.

The level requirement is level 30 and make sure you bring your best gear.

This is primarily a exploration focus dlc with some new settlement quests, mechanics and stuff. The park is a blast to explore as you visit each unique location and learn about the lore behind it and partake in what it offers. It's fun to be a raider and see your gangs patrol Nuka world and commonwealth killing things for you and giving you respect and authroity for the most part.

Did I mention you get rich? Spend all of your caps because once you start the business you will be set up for life and can buy whatever you want. Not to mention it's fun to kill mimutement and ♥♥♥♥ of Preston and claim all the loot and booty for you. Showing dominance to challengers and doing evil things but not in a way you expect. You can be evil there is no two ways about it but don't expect to be the new legion.

Now for the breakdown

Main quests
Now one of the first things you shouldn't go into expecting is some story driven main and side quests on the level of Far Harbor, Nuka has nothing to that in terms of main and side quests. There is not a whole lot of main and side quests roughly 3-4 side quests and 8 or so main quests. Each part of the park has one main quest and there is one quest in the commonwealth. The main story driven stuff is the lore behind everything you find on terminals, on holotapes and speaking to the residents of Nuka World. The story won't win a Oscar or any award but it serves it's purpose which is to encourage you to explore each zone.

Loot
There is a few new weapons and armour in the dlc from the Ak to the handmade rifle that can be made into a sniper, short range gun and of course the Nuka weapons seen in the trailers that can be weaponised. There is a ton of New Nuka colas of various flavours added as well as new items to craft these new flavours. There is a few new legendary modifications such as one that does more damage the longer you are using Chems and others. However the armour is disappointing as I never needed to take off my marine armour from Far Harbor, it's there to look cool but that's about it. I should mention the new perks as well which come from the companion, gangs and the new perk levels in a few of the perks like the mysterious stranger for instance.

Overall the new loot is interesting but except for the weapons and cola the armour leaves abit to be desired but still overall solid

Settlements
Yes this needs to be run over, there is of course new settlement items, a new settlement etc. But the main attraction is the new settlement mechanics in the form of the raiders and how raiding in the commonwealth works. I'm not gonna go into too much details as I'll instead link my thread which goes over it which I'll add below once this is published, overall the new mechanics are not bad and I like that you can play as a passive raider rather then one who kills and enslaves everyone in sight and to be fair raiders are easier to satisfy then settlers and there is no Preston to mark any crap on your map

http://gtm.steamproxy.vip/app/377160/discussions/0/359547436762316816/?ctp=2

Exploration
This is the real gem here as Nuka world despite being smaller then Harbor is way more detailed with each of the five zones plus surrounding areas. Each zone has quite abit of lore behind everything as you explore it plus there is a few locations outside of Nuka world that are alright but no where near the detail of the zones in itself. Each zone has its own quest and own enemy's for you to vs with it own specific theme like the Wild West to kiddie Kingdom with its own rides for you to ride once a certain quest is completed with secrets and hidden goodies as well. It's a blast to see this alternative Disney land in the fallout universe and see how messed up everything is.

Companion
The new companion has a lot of dialogue. Basically quadruple the amount Longfellow says plus more!. Not to mention multiple levels of affinity with a cool perk to boot and loves you killing everyone and everything! He is definitely one of the better developed companions with a deep ish background and yes you can romance him :)

Overall this is a solid dlc that provides plenty of content to one who likes to explore, new loot, a interesting companion, new enemy's and settlement stuff but is let down from bugs and some of the outer places outside of Nuka world are flat and boring as well as not many side quests.

A solid 8/10

Ps I need to edit this so don't judge my grammer too badly plz. I posted this early so people got a general idea of the dlc.

** Please Note that now that the DLC is out for my region I am not binded by any NDA anymore and can technically post this due to the DLC being out

Before I begin I will list everything I have done in terms of the dlc
- 38 hours Spent on the island
- All main quests done and every ending experienced
- All side quests done
- Every location explored and all Settlements unlocked
- 2/3 faction quests done
- Have found every copy of the islander almanac now
- 20 hours in total for side quest and main quest plus discovering all locations. The rest was just exploring

Look if you don’t want to read anything else of this review then read this, take Nick to all Story missions for a surprise.

Fallout 4 Far Harbor is in many ways a massive improvement over the dire main game. Common complaints from the main game included that you couldn’t be a bad guy or your choices from the main story didn’t have an impact on the landscape. Well I can tell you one thing, Charge cards are now ACCEPTED at this mysterious and new location. Contrary to my other reviews I wont just write about it generally but instead break it up into various sections so that people who want to know more about a section can read there. Also note there may or may not be spoilers, if there is I will give substantial time to avoid them if you so desire.

Story

The Story in Far Harbor is simple, find the missing girl. But instead its more than that. In reality this plot point only really exists to set up the other and more interesting point in the story. While I won’t spoil it, I highly recommend you bring Nick Val with you to all story missions on the island as he has essentially a second but more subtle companion quest. These main quests are quite interesting and dare I say unique, there is one well I thought impressive part in one of the main quests that made me have to use my brain, which I didn’t think was possible in this game but alas it is. I wont go anymore into the story but there are several endings that can lead to various different outcomes that change the outcome of the island.

Yes there are factions involved but not the same ones as those found in the base game. These factions all have their own side quests and vendors and lore built into them. Their side quests are for the most part more so interesting then the main games bar a few. Without spoiling any of them some of them can be completed in different ways that don’t involve killing. But at the end of the day if you boil it all down to the central part then yes a majority of them do involve going here to kill there or collect them. But they are done in a way that provide some visual impact like upgrading a certain place or getting more respect from locals which open up more side quests. Also I hope you like being a detective ;)

But what about the base game factions? Bethesda promised new Faction Quests right? Well your right they did and they are there. However they are not what you may imagine, now as far as I know there is only 3 new faction’s quests, one for each faction. Note that the minutemen don’t count as the only faction one I’ve seen from them is “Defend This New Settlement!!!!” If someone has done the Railroad faction quest for the island please let me know

Settlements

Yes there had to be a paragraph dedicated to them. In terms of Settlements there are 4 new locations, however those who wanted more flat land to build their dream house on will have to wait. Instead you are treated to 4 vastly different areas that I can see at least 2 having some sort of restoration project attached to. There no Hangman’s Alley type settlements sizes here or spectacle islands, but they are medium in size.

The Settlements can also mostly be cleared out such as whole buildings removed or removing one piece of trash clears that whole area giving you more space. In term of settlement items there are a few new ones, but not the ones that were leaked a while back unless they are a schematic in some secret place. Stuff like Barns are there which means everyone be Old Macdonald who had a farm full of death claws. (which Btw there are a few on the island but not many)

What is disappointing is that the new beasts (which there are quite a few) cannot be caged or pitted against one another in the arena or even head mounted on the wall yet.

Loot

There is a decent sized loot pool in the island, these involve new Armor and weapons. There are a few new legit new legendary weapons that aint Pipe Pistol that does 50% more damage to human. I won’t spoil it but some of the more interesting loot involves radiation while you may of seen some of the best armor in the trailer.

Exploring

In term of exploring the island, it’s fairly big and took my 10 minutes to go from one side to the other running. There are a few new unique enemies as well which you have also seen in the trailer, high level players beware some of these new enemies will test how many bullets you can put in them before they 3 shot you. I won’t go into any details.
Also note something interesting is Stat Checks, yes that’s right that thing we could do on the captains ship is called a stat checks and Far harbor has way more then the base game, in fact you get one almost 5 mins into Far harbor.

There are more than 20 locations and I can confirm that for the most part these are unique and interesting though there are a few bland and boring locations that have no use and are lazily called a location. There are also a fair amount of unmarked locations like Red Rocket stations, houses, cars and Boats! (ow Shoot spoilers!!!)

Conclusion

In conclusion there is a lot I want to talk about and share with all of you, but in doing so I would be hurting the experience of the player. But I hope that ive cleared up some things that may or may be stopping someone from buying the game.

If anyone has any questions about the dlc and don’t want to ask on Steam, you can ♥♥♥ me and we can talk about it elsewhere. But I will not spoil the game at any cost

PS: Thanks Bethesda for this awesome dlc, it rocked!

Score: Buy
Rating: 8/10

The First time I open Alien Isolation I was greeted by the iconic and original sound of the original fox movie logo that appeared all those years ago. This is when I knew I was in for a treat.

Well would you look at that. A game that carries the sole name Alien that actually lives up to what the original film did all those years ago. This is the best ALIEN game of all time without a single doubt in my mind

Alien Isolation a game developed by Creative Assembly who were known for releasing the latest iteration of Total War in a horrendous state that nearly killed anything good surrounding that name
Why are you reading this review then? BUY THE GAME! No I’m serious, buy it now if you are a Alien or a fan of any stealth games like outlast or amnesia. So um buy the game?
If you are still reading then I would assume it’s because you would like to know what the game is and what I find good and bad in the game, with a recommendation of buy now, wait for a sale or skip completely

You take the role of Amanda Ripley the daughter of the female protagonist Ellen Ripley from Alien, Aliens, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection (But those last two movies never existed did they?) 15 years after the events of Alien that the flight recorder of the Nostromo who Ellen Ripley had previously been on has been found and a Weyland Yutani Executive Android by the name of Samuels has asked you if you would like to take the journey to the main location of the game called the Sevastopol station. Unfortunately being an Alien game these sort of things never stay easy.
Upon arriving at the station you are told to back away and leave, ignoring the advice the station has relayed to you, you take the plunge and enter the station, this is where the proper game begins and I’ll stop here for any spoiler’s story wise.

This is where I have to briefly speak about one of the best parts of Alien Isolation which is the sound design and the atmosphere. These are two of the many things that the game completely succeeds and excels in. The sound of everything from the iconic motion tracker to the hissing of the alien and even to a degree the screams of her victims is exhilarating to hear. The sound will always keep you on your toe thanks to the extra effort Creative Assembly put into the game by having the original sound from original movie recorded and placed into the game which makes everything you see and do a treat. The atmosphere also needs a mention here, thanks to the brilliant lighting and placement of shadows everything feels ripped right out of an old horror movie and this does the game true justice as well. I could go on forever about the sound and atmosphere but I’ll leave it there

The next point I’ll make is the graphics. While they are not the best we have ever seen they do help create the mood and atmosphere of the game terrifically. This is done by the way the game uses Alien Low Sci fi. In which everything you see and interact with comes in mind from the original way we all imagined the future back when the Original Alien was released. The Low Sci fi is a particular high point as you see all those iconic ways people had imagined the future through lounges and spaceships, to suits and even hallways. This game simply has it all

This then brings me to the main part of the game, the enemy and the stealth. Now this is quite a varied opinion as I feel the Ai in this game for the Alien at least is by far some of the best AI I have ever encountered. The Alien is dynamic and it feels as if you are actually facing off against the Alien from the movie. This is an achievement in itself and its great knowing that its such a good game. So what about the other Ai? To be honest they are average, the humans range from dumb to amazing and the androids also unfortunately fare the same, that does not stop them from being scary though (shivers). The Androids act like robots as you would expect and as they chase you yelling “running is a safety hazard” and “I need to speak with you” Its funny and creepy at the same time.

The stealth in this game is very similar to the game outlast which funny enough came out not too long ago. You can walk and run as well as enter lockers to avoid detection, however you can’t open and close doors but you can activate a lockdown system which temporally locks the door, but they didn’t lock the vent above you mwahaha. Anyways to assist you with being stealthy you get a selection of tools that you can craft like a noise maker which attracts the enemy to a specific spot while for instance a Molotov will not only keep the alien away but set the humans and androids on fire as well. All these go on the mix with weapons such as the pistol, the shotgun, as well as the iconic flamethrower with one more which I shall not name.

Now this brings me to the last point the collectables. Yes that’s right I need to talk about these because they have some of the best collectibles in any game ever, while some of the most boring and average ones yes. So firstly the bad ones, these involve having IDs for the games missing people, but with no story apart from a picture these just plainly suck. However the next set more then make up for it. So during the game you will get tools which can allow you to access locations that you previously couldn't explore such as a gas room for example. With these new tools you can go back and access them, these usually contain the Nostromo Logs which are voiced by the original cast members of Alien which provides extra juicy background information for the game which makes it a joy to listen to them all speaking again, including you ash!

So what does all this do in the end? Well we get a game which has an iconic setting that just begs to be explored Metroidvania style with fantastic collectibles for the most part. The smart and on your tail Alien that is relentless as well as creepy and a serviceable story which explores the gap we didn’t know much about

So my score for Alien Isolation is a Recommendation

Season pass review

Disclaimer: this is my opinion and feel free to disagree
Spoilers may also be present

The first metro dlc pack "The Faction Pack" is a loose collection of stories taken from the different factions in the metro universe the Nazis the Reds and the Rangers

The Nazi mission is essentially a defence mission where you(Hans) and two guys have to hold out for roughly 10-15 minutes from the reds invading them. Ultimately this mission is a let down for most people as it feels like rehashed content. There is still some bugs where after a certain amount of time if you don't kill a certain emery it will automatically kill you which is annoying. However the new weapons that you get the use do make killing the Reds fun. But overall it's not a great start to the dlc

The Red mission, before I continue I would like to point out that I refrain from using the Russian names as I don't wanna be offensive, continuing this mission puts you in the boots of a Red sniper who is tasked to get to the other side of the map sounds easy right? How about doing it without being spotted. This is done due to the introduction of a sniper rifle we did not get to use in the main single player. This makes it a welcome addition and changes up the pace as you time your shots carefully to pick people one by one as you go from one side to the other. The cache is that if detected the enemy will go to ring a bell which signals a automatically failure. Overall this is a great mission but it does lack replay ability in order to have some fun. It also lacks by only ever having to face no more then 2 enemies at one given time as well as the ending made it seem like more to come but nothing else came. Still great fun though

Lastly the meat on the bones the Ranger mission. In this mission you are put in the boots of "stalker" a ranger trainee who is assigned to a team tasked with going to the great library on what is essentially a scavenger hunt. You have your captain you artefact specialist and your two comrades. At first I did not like this mission I found it lacking and boring. However I persisted and I really liked it. You can collect up to five treasures before you must go back to base and face against some nosialies until the door to your base opens up. At first the two comrades I thought were useless they just sat at base doing nothing. Until I made my first trip back to base where they helped me fend off my first wave and yer there were a few other times as well. Every artefact you bring back earns you money that you can use to upgrade your suit and your arsenal to progress further and further into the library and yes the librarians make a welcome return. The map in the whole is interconnected where you may find a different way to get back to base this may involve jumping down holes or switching on switches. You also get given light bulbs where you can place them into walls and essentially light your way up around the place which can also be done through your lighter. Overall this is a great mission that is fantastic but some may find boring while others will love it
In conclusion
Pros
- A fantastic ranger mission that puts the creep factor up to 11
- A nice range of new weapons to up use in all missions
- the sniper mission is ace
Cons
- the heavy mission is a bit of a let down
- why did we not get to use these awesome weapons in the main missions??
Score 7.5/10
Playtime 1.45 hours

"The Tower Pack"
This mission is I'm gonna say off the bat the worse of the season pass. It tries too many things and does not succeed in any but a rage fest
The premises is quite interesting you play as a wounded ranger who is asked while healing to take part in an simulator to help some scientists simulate real situations. At first I dreamed of what could you do. Could we design our own missions? Sadly not this is essentially a tower defence without the towers to help you defend. It feels like orcs must die without any help. You have essentially 5 missions where you vs either guys with guns or mutants until you survive x amount of rounds. Before you go into battle you get to choose what weapons you want to use well after the first two missions anyway and what difficulty you want to do in terms of missions such as a hard mission that is very dark with a lot of enemies or a easy mission that is bright. Without saying much you essentially have to run around shooting things and surviving while earning points that you can use to buy things such as ammo or people to help you defend. But they are terrible unless there are a million of them. Without a select mission replay you will die a lot even on easy difficulty and you may not even end up finishing it.
Overall a very disappointing pack
Pros- nice range of weapons to use
- the story at the beginning sounds interesting at least
- could of been great
- a leader board to show who has the skills
Cons
- but it is not
- too hard and does not fit with metros gameplay
- can not choose a specific mission to do eg mission 3 you have to do them all over again
- could of been so much more
Score 3/10
Playtime 1.5 hours (please note that I really completed it in 1 hour the other half was dieing and having to re do that mission)

"The Developer Pack"
After the bad taste of the tower pack came the developer pack.
This pack Is split into two mission's the developer pack and the spider layer. But first the developer pack mission it's self contains 3 areas. A museum where you can view all the enemies and people close up. A firing range where you can test yourself in 10 difficult rounds with almost any weapons you choose and a combat simulator where you can put different types of enemies against one another. This mission is designed to show what the developers did to test the Ai and the weapons in the main game as well as tweak them and such. I would of liked some different enemy types in the arena with only Humans, noises and fish (also note that these are nicknames I've given them) and one other that has slipped my mind for the time being. Depending on who you are you may spend between 10 mins to 2 hours in this mission going through everything. Overall I found this interesting to use but I wished it was tools that we could use to say make our own missions but still alright

But now this is why you would want to get it the Spider lair. Ow boy this mission. I know many of you including me hated the spiders in last light so having a whole mission with nothing but them was simply put Terrifying!!!!!. You play as a ranger who along with some guys go off exploring into a rocket silo. That is until things go wrong and you end up getting caught by the spiders and having to escape. Along the way you have to use light to your advantage. Usually in metro you don't like light makes you easy to spot, but here it is heaven having light. This is also made excellent due to the limited weaponry at first. You start off with none but slowing build up to three weapons. The pistol, the shotgun and the flame thrower. The flame thrower is a new weapon that we also have not used before. This mission is very creepy as you try to find light to escape the dozens of spiders that lurk everywhere . While I won't say too much this mission is on the short side while only taking me 20 mins to complete which is a shame as the ending made it also seem like more to come or hopeless outcome. But overall this mission is fantastic and creepy despite being short
Overall this pack is a better improvement over the tower pack and if you had to choose I would say this over the tower pack
Pros
- Spiders!!!!!
- the flame thrower packs a awesome punch
- light is your friend forever now
- the character models look nice
- I get to use all the weapons in one spot now
Cons
- spider mission too short
- the dev mission seemed liked a missed opportunity
- still can not make your own missions
Score 7.5/10
Playtime 1 hour

Randy, Randy pitchford. How could you man, after 7 years and $130 later you still act as if nothing is wrong with your game

you know I tried to enjoy it you see look at my playtime, I had enjoyed co op. I really liked the Mp, heck I even enjoyed bug hunt and stasis interrupted

I felt you guys were getting there. You released some great patches such as a graphics boost and Ai improvements. Yet you just stopped the game

borderlands 2 still keeps getting updates and Dlc. We as Alien fans only wanted one thing if you were gonna cut support. Dedicated servers, yet none are there and the game is dead. Congrats Randy you got me a loyal fan of B1 and B2 and your other series, I always preordered games untill last year's disaster

I hope justice is served
