Splatfest is an event when us squid kids risk our lives for what we believe in. Our lives are pitted against our friends, our family, maybe even our children. There are two teams, both fight for what they love, but as the world torrents, the polarity of our interests drives us apart. Drives us insane. We must fight for rank to become kings and queens of our own turf, as we advance further in the harsh and brutal warfare. But alas, this isn’t our true goal. This isn’t what we really want. What exactly IS it that we are fighting for? What is it, amongst all this inkshead, all this pain, that drives our souls, our hearts, and our hands further? I wish it were simple, but sadly it is not. Some of us fight for the ones we love, or the ones we admire. Some of us, fight simply for power. Some, for money or fame. And some, fight for justice. After all, justice is a dish best served with a side of super sea snail.
