Like the original, the game follows a structure based on a caleidoscope of extremely fast paced routes. Caleidoscope is a fitting word for a visual novel, where each choice diametrically alters the context and outcome of any given situation. It's a wild ride, full of twists and turns, and author clearly enjoys toying with player's expectations, and so the scenes often shift into a territory of dark and bizzare. This changing nature of game is complemented by ending illustrations, created by host of artists, each with distinct artstyle.

And like the original the game the brief pace makes it a very fun experience. Even more so, given the new visuals. The game has crafted a very beautiful aesthetic, stylised to look like paper-cutouts. Complemented also by original music score and expanded cast of likable characters, it all amps up the cuteness of original and gives LNO a unique charm.
Lily's Night Off is a quintessential, evolutionary sequel. It builds up on the established formula, focusing mostly on improving the technical aspects. And that serves it well.

So all the text-wall drivel above, comes to this : the game is a carefully improved sequel and if you liked the original you're gonna love the sequel. It's short, it'seems charming and it looks cuter than ever.
