A superb game that has thoroughly stood up to the test of time. The gameplay remains just as superb as I remember it from my youth, and is equally as enthralling now as it was then.

I would argue that this is no more HD than the original one is - the animations, even the sprites, feel barely changed from their original resolution in the original AOEII.

Its graphics hence look a little dated, but it should run on 99% of computers at a silky smooth framerate, so grab it if you want a slice of gaming history.

Quite a lot of fun to be had in this game. I didn't really enjoy the story, and some of the Explorer's attacks just felt absurdly overpowered - eg. being able to onehit an enemy unit, no matter what it was, besides heavy siege weapons every minute or two minutes or something?

Nonetheless, it brings exactly to the table what made AOEII great - pretty graphics for its era, superb, SUPERB gameplay that I've come back to time and time again over the years, and units feeling almost exactly perfectly balanced (with the aforementioned exception of Explorers.)

Been playing this for a long time, following the alpha. The game itself is great fun, especially in a massive chaotic frenzy of a 16 v 16 game - arrows fly everywhere, knights dominate the ground with their bombs and swords, and builders desperately repair structures. It's great fun.

great fighter, takes ideas from the best of 2D fighters and builds on them, pretty interesting character ideas that act as a refreshing homage to older characters in other franchises (Cerebella = MvC Hulk, Ms Fortune = Devo from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure).

Characters are a bit oversexualised, but I guess that comes with the genre.

Fun little game for an hour or so. Physics is kinda funky, but the breakneck pacing reminds me of the good old days of F-Zero X.

Is it possible to describe this as a 'Documentary Game'? It tells the story of the coup that overthrew a democratically elected President whatsisface of Iran.

AOE2 era RTS where you can have heaps and heaps of units

needs a bit of tweaking to run on modern PCs, otherwise it runs too fast
