It's a lovely, short, cinematic game. It makes as bold an artistic statement now as it did when it was first released. I do think the base price tag is too much for such a short and unchallenging game, so unless you want to support Thatgamecompany, get it on sale.

While exploration is a big part of the experience, you're still going to mostly be trudging across barren sand dunes with little to show for it, and what little is learned about the world, merely leaves you wanting more, and unfortunately, there is only the repetition of another pilgrimage through the same levels. I would love to see an equally minimalistic prequel or sequel that gives Journey's world and the gameplay that it hosts more depth, but travelling back and forth, be it alone or with a friend, and watching those glimmering lights at the summit streak back to the deserts you came from, it all feels like you're an actor chained to a single stage for eternity.

The options menu is also quite sparse for a port, specifically in terms of key/button binding. Vertical camera movement is inverted on gamepads and it's weird getting used to that.

Is cute. Is 99 cents (as of this review). Pretty challenging in the later levels, and it'll probably take me a few hours more to S-Rank every level and beat Survival mode. Tons of loadout variety means you can make any playstyle your own, and (presumably, if I could get a game) stand out in Co-Op. Probably nothing a seasoned Shmup player will have too much trouble with, but fun nonetheless, especially for me, a shmup scrub.

A simple, fun and fast-paced squad-shooter with a killer soundtrack and a unique aesthetic.

If you want an engaging and fast paced 2-D fighter full of loveable characters and fluid hand-drawn animation, then you sure as hell need to get this game.

It's like Legend of Zelda Four Swords meets Dungeon Crawling! Tons of levels with thousands of level combinations, along with an extensive arsenal of weaponry for every occasion. Don't be soloing too often, or you'll lose all you're Energy having to revive yourself! Energy is this game's DOOOOOOOOWN fall. You can spend multiple in-game thousands buying the surplus you need to enter the higher teirs, or use AHEMCOUGHCHOKErealmoneyGAGCOUGH to get it quick. It does give the player a sense of management, as you only have enough energy for clearing a single Teir a day, which replenishes every 24 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ HOU- oh, sorry. The gameplay is solid, and it has a fairly interesting setting and story (if you can GET that far). Enjoy!

DON'T ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ WASTE THAT ♥♥♥♥. I MEAN IT.

Dispite it's memetastic, machomanly theme, Loadout has a very solid "build your own weapon" mechanic. Press that random button, and you've got yourself your own cute little weapon of mass destruciton to use against everyone else's weapons of mass destruction. There's a weapon for every occasion, and even ones for no occasion!

There is large emphasis on customization in this game, something I adore in games in general, but you must be willing to fight for the best materials, gear, and weapons to be the greatest Samurai-Ninja of them all.
