I like it. It's Killing Floor.
People are hating hard on the game, and I get it; gamers are the biggest whiners.
There's a few things that suck, but they act like it's the end of the world;
It really does suck that there's no text chat, but there was in beta, so I'm not giving up hope.
It also sucks that there's no server browser, I almost forget that and that's my main complaint.
It kind of sucks that I have to run 20 whole feet to the VTOL to take off, but everything else can be done by just hitting Tab.
The dreaded Battle pass is similar to Helldivers 2. You earn credits as you play. And it's for cosmetics.
In terms of content, I feel like people are unfairly comparing this to a game that has 9 years of content. Again.
Also, I'm not sure what brand potato some people are playing on, but I'm pulling 100+ frames on high settings and I don't even have a fancy rig, so..
Once 2 or 3 free dlcs drop, the reviews will swing back to positive.

You have to be a real FromSoft fan to like this one.
I am a fan and I think it's middling. I sure would not recommend it.
It's really got a lot to like; it improves combat in every way and causes you to play in new ways, no run is the the same.
But almost even more to hate; one slip in the boss arena can doom almost an hour for 3 people, those people are usually tools, RNG can really bone a run from the get go and feel disheartening, meta progression in the early game makes it hard to get a foothold, which will turn newer players off..
I'll probably keep playing it, but I wouldn't suggest anyone else do so.

I waited a long time for this game, and i'm proud to say; I like it a lot.
It's got a few technical issues, but it's a great base.
I'm super excited to see what official updates are coming, but also what the community has to offer.

Nearing the end and the story has been pretty good too but there are a few big choices you have to make, so your actions will change the world, and not always for the better.
There are enough choices that it really makes you want to do multiple plays through too, but I feel like i'll never agree with Skif's choices..

Still it's nice to meet the Zone's legends in such fidelity, even if half of them are nutballs and the other half don't like Skif much either.

There's a genre of game that isn't talked about much and it's pretty niche.
I call it "a boy and his car" games (Like A Boy And His Dog)
Basically a post apocalyptic world(sorry Finland) where you survive with your wits and your ride.
My Summer Car, Mad Max, The Long Drive, Days Gone, I'm sure there's more I'm forgetting..

Anyway, this game is somehow one of the most chill and the most stressful of this genre.
It's like My Summer Escape From Tarkov in a lot of ways and I really enjoy that.
Now it does have a lot of quirks and funky controls, but once you get used it, it's a fun gameplay loop that has a good narrative drive.
You can check out the demo if it seems interesting at all, it's worth your time.

In a way, it kind of reminds me of No Man's Sky(some planets) or Cyberpunk;
The world is put together with such a good sense of atmosphere that I like to just sit in the driver's seat while the rain patters on the roof and the zone lives around me.

I think it's finally time to recommend it!
Still a few issues, but they seem minor in comparison to a week ago.
The devs are still working and I'm fairly confident it's only getting better.

I used to slam my Cetus X into things at high velocity..
Well, I still do, but I used to too.

I have gotten better at piloting, so I think this does help; since I've got more time in this than through my actual packs.
Excited for more maps, so far they have been adding some good ones.
There's already a wind system on one map and it's variants that will push you around, which is a nice touch.

(Works great with the LiteRadio 3)

Doesn't work with my drone's cheap radio and doesn't control like my cheap drone, but after a little practice on the Xbox controller I was vaporizing dudes and equipment.
Pretty fun; just hoping for more missions.
Great price and possibly good for droning practice.

Great if you have friends, but not so much solo.
The scaling isn't great for solo players, unless you want to overlevel to the point of boredom.
You'll still run into boss situations where it's clearly geared towards a co-op party..
It's weird, because i don't remember the first game feeling that way

(That all being said, if you buy it, hit me up for some co-op lol)

I want to like it.
I can't find the words to describe why I don't like it..
It's frustrating, but not in a normal FromSoft games way.

One example, you go through a level with gear that's just fine, but then you get to a boss that can only be hurt if you drop it's shield.
Ok, Well, you have to die to him first to switch weapons to the gun best at dropping the shield.
Well, there goes half your mission pay in repairs.
Trust me, you're not going to S rank that one til endgame

(I wont even get into the frustration of trying a different build against a boss, finding it to not work then waiting for him to kill you so you can change it. Or gods forbid, not having or affording the gear you need.. That's enough to make me want to punch a dev alone)

I get it, that's AC. That's FromSoft. Whatever.
But little QoL things could really make this game better..

(Just a fun little addition to the review, found out today in a Vaati video today that S-rank requirements can change mission to mission without the players knowledge. One might require speed, another low ammo use, etc. Seems like another dirty tactic to increase gameplay time and inflate game length.)

It's got a quick, fun gameplay loop.
The hive city looks good on all the levels, the detail is just amazing.
Progression is slow, but each perk makes a big difference.
It feels like an improvement over Vermintide in a lot of ways.
I play on High settings with decent (60+) average frames. I'm sure i could get more, but it looks great and I havent had major performance issues.
But be wary, ive seen people with better machines than mine have more trouble with this game.
Luckily, my machine's spirit seems to have no problems with it. Which is good, because i'm hooked.
