regarding RTW you are right it is a port forwarding issue, if you use win7 / vista you only have to put rometw.exe into the firewall on xp you have additionally to enable "upnp". aswell you need to enable upnp on your router. further you should not have more than 1 connection ENABLED (not active) in your network overview. if there are other networking devices like firewire, hamachi or stuff you need to DISABLE THEM to play rtw
