I am a big fan of CIV series; since the original CIV, I have purchased every released CIV game, every expansion and every DLC ever published, so of course I have pre-ordered Beyond Earth.

I enjoyed while playing it, even if the game pace felt really slow, and I think it is a good "game".

However, I am extremely disappointed, because it just does not feel like it is worth a full game price.

I am not even sure this can be categorized as a new game, it is like a full conversion MOD of CIV V. All the mechanics are the same, all units are pretty much the same, just different names and graphics. Many dialogs are exactly the same, just with different font and colors... Yes there are some new things (affinities, non linear tech tree, quests etc.) which I really liked, but not enough to make me feel like this is a different game than CIV V.

I would not recommend this game to any of my friends, unless it is priced in the range of a CIV V DLC or maybe at a price of an expansion.
