A Promising Hardcore Tactical Shooter with Genuine Potential

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time with this game so far. While it's still in early access, the foundation is strong, and I’m hopeful it will evolve into something exceptional over the coming years.

The gameplay rewards coordination, caution, and tactical decision-making. However, I strongly recommend avoiding public online lobbies at this stage. Many players tend to rush objectives, hoard weapons and ammo, and undermine the intended cooperative experience. For the best results, play with a private group of friends who allow you to absorb the world.

Some key items occasionally blend into the environment a bit too well. Some might disagree, but I believe adjusting their visibility slightly would improve usability without sacrificing immersion. As for the checkpoint system, some might find the spacing too wide, but I believe it strikes a solid balance. It reinforces the importance of preserving lives and making careful choices.

Chapter 1: A strong introduction that blends atmosphere, exploration, and puzzles nicely. It encourages players to investigate thoroughly and rewards attention to detail.

Chapter 2: Not the best. While the SCP-inspired enemy is creatively designed, the level layout feels repetitive. The constant need to avoid eye contact with the enemy can become frustrating rather than tense.

Chapter 3: A marked improvement. It still involves some running around, but the water segment stands out as a highlight. It's intense, atmospheric, and unlike anything I’ve played recently.

Ghosts of the South Gate: One of the best so far. Atmospheric and tense, with well-designed challenges. However, it's extremely difficult to complete solo. For the full experience, bring friends (void public matchmaking.)

Overall

While not without flaws, the game has a unique charm and solid gameplay mechanics. The tension, tactical focus, and puzzle elements show real promise. AI improvement, some levels polishing, and more crazy stuff with the SCP stories would up this score. But with continued updates and balance tweaks, this could become a standout in its genre.

Rating: 7/10 – Solid foundation with great potential. One to watch.

Dead Space is a great game. For those who missed out on the original release back in 2008, this remake doesn't feel dated and offers more in scope that makes it worth diving in. As someone who’s played a lot of horror games over the years, I’ll admit that other titles might offer more intense scares. But Dead Space earns a respectable B in my book. What really elevates the experience is its rich lore and well-crafted side missions, which add meaningful depth to the main story.

That said, a quick heads-up: there are some performance issues. Occasional stuttering can happen, and in rare cases, levels may fail to render properly. In one instance, I fell into the void because the next section didn’t load in time. Thankfully, these issues are infrequent and shouldn’t be a dealbreaker for most players.

I blew myself up when I tried to cook meth for the first time. After this experience, I will never consider a career in manufacturing, dealing or distributing drugs. Great game.

15 years later, it is clear why Left 4 Dead 2 remains one of the most-played zombie shooters and popular games on Steam. What can I say that hasn't already been said? This game is truly exceptional, providing endless fun and entertainment for you and your friends to enjoy on any given weekend. It has a unique ability to bring people together in a casual gaming experience.

However, I must caution against playing online co-op with strangers. There is a high likelihood that a troll may join your game, causing disruptions such as team-killing, hindering your progress, or forcing you to restart a chapter. Even in Versus mode, where server stability can be an issue, players may quit unexpectedly. My recommendation is to gather a group of friends to play with to ensure a more enjoyable experience.

Even if you have played Left 4 Dead 2 before, the workshop offers a vast array of mods, maps, skins, and other content that can breathe new life into the game and provide a fresh perspective. Exploring new community-created maps can add excitement and variety to your experience.

In conclusion, while Left 4 Dead 2 may not be perfect, playing with friends can make it a game that will likely stand the test of time for another fifteen years.

As someone who has cherished memories of playing Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 on the Dreamcast and GameCube, revisiting these games nearly 20 years later has led me to believe that they may not withstand the test of time.

While Sonic Adventure 2 is not a bad game, it falls short in comparison to its predecessor, Sonic Adventure. The sense of urgency that was present in the first game seems to be lacking in the sequel. The narrative fails to convey the same level of danger and excitement, resulting in a more linear gameplay experience.

Both Adventure games still suffer from clipping issues that can lead to frustrating moments where your character is thrown off the map. While the Speed Levels provide enjoyment, the treasure hunting and mech stages can feel tedious and time-consuming. The mech stages in Sonic Adventure 2, in particular, lack the excitement and engagement found in Sonic Adventure 1 Gamma story. If they just made the Mech stages faster in SA2, it would've been enjoyable. But they put more focus on building points than speed.

The changes made to the treasure-hunting mechanic is in my personal opinion...stupid, limiting players to tracking only one emerald at a time, seems unnecessary and detracts from the overall experience. The repetitive nature of sweeping through levels aimlessly until the radar beeps is boring.

The camera is still busted like in the previous adventure game.

Furthermore, the audio mixing in Sonic Adventure 2 is really bad. Characters dubbing and sound mixing surprised me that someone at Sega went "Good Enough" and OK'd it. Add the limited options for customization besides changing from stereo to mono. The audio and sound is unacceptable. If there were no subtitles, I wouldn't hear anything from the characters.

The game's biggest strength and value is the replay value. A ranking on all stages, the chao garden, go-karting, etc. But besides the speed stages, I cannot have fun going through those again with slapped-on challenges that will determine if RNG is on my side or not.

In conclusion, while Sonic Adventure 2 is not without its merits, it fails to capture the magic of its predecessor and falls short in several key areas. I enjoyed playing it as a kid, but I don't think holds up to the test of time. I know Sonic Adventure 2 is cherished by some and there are some cool moments in it. However, the lack of urgency, repetitive gameplay mechanics, buggy aspects, and audio issues detract from the overall experience, making it difficult to recommend as a must-play title.

When the game was announced. I was sceptical and thought RE4 didn't need a remake. The Original RE4 is still bought, played, and talked about nearly 20 years later. But after the release people was saying the REMAKE is better than the original. After finishing it, I am glad I did play this game because this is likely one of the BEST remakes in the series.

My first playthrough took over 18 hours. It started giving me the chills...but near the end, I was getting great thrills. There is a ton of bonus content, unlockables, and challenges to jump back into. This Remake has added and improved a lot in the gameplay that I will regret not having when I play the Original RE4. It's no surprise why so some prefer this over the original.

Worth the full price.

I paid £5 for this and you should not spend more than £10 on Resident Evil 3 Remake.

Resident Evil 3 for the PlayStation is my favorite out of the series. I remember going through the city, businesses, alleyways, parks, etc. It's truly in my personal opinion one of the best experiences on the PlayStation 1. When the announcement was made for RE3R, It was only a couple of months AFTER the release of Resident Evil 2 Remake. Immediately I knew this game would be rushed and have little development time. Only 1 year after the RE2 Remake release, we got RE3 Remake.

Is this remake good? Well, It's not worth £40+ and it's not better than RE2R...but it's a fun okay game.

It's very hard to NOT make a comparison to the PS1 version. The remake is missing around 2/3 of the content from the PS1. In the Remake, We're missing the crows, graver digger boss, spiders, and the brain suckers. Instead, they've given us more scripted nemesis encounters, head-parasite zombies, pale-head zombies, lickers from RE2, and an upgraded hunter that will insta-kill you even if you had full health. This isn't bad but it isn't good either. It's more like the bare minimum compared to the last games.

They did expand on the sewer and gave an upgrade to one very intimidating hunter version. I can tell that the devs have tried to give an updated/modern version to some elements in this game and try to offer a different spin. There is JUST enough for this Resident Evil 3 to be its own thing.

The Remake City is too linear. I don't feel like I am in a giant city compared to the PS1 version with multiple alleyways, bars, stores, etc. I would've liked for the remake to take advantage of a city that is full of zombies. Like maybe one street is too dangerous, but there are alleyways or maybe cutting through different buildings to get past would've been great. Maybe If I've cleared one street of zombies. In 5 minutes, a new horde will arrive.

The game looks amazing and I have no serious problems with the characters. I guess my only nitpick would be the antagonist. Without too many spoilers, he is not great or memorable compared to a lot of villains in the RE universe. He's not intelligent or smartly written out. He has the typical motive that you've seen in other media.

Nemesis is a MASSIVE let-down compared to the previous version and with MR X in RE2R. In the PS1, Nemesis is stalking you and can appear anywhere. He was a boss that would ruin your day. You had to run away from him because he was a tough SOAB. In the Remake, just chuck a grenade at him and he's down. .

It's missing a lot of features from the PS1 and RE2 Remake. This should've been DLC rather than a standalone release. This game is still a fun and okay experience. There are plenty of unlockables and replay value. There are speed run challenges and ranks that I will jump back in to retry. I completed it in 4 hours in-game on my first attempt. This is why you should NOT pay full price.

Despite my criticism. This game is good enough for one weekend. I'm a fan of Resident Evil and had an okay time playing this. I will jump back into it in the future. But If I know if I bought this on release. I would not have been happy. It's JUST good enough that I believe anyone can play this and have a good time.

6/10 | If I paid more the score would've been lower.

This is by far one of the best zombie games on the market. If you're someone who thought they could survive a zombie attack. This game will allow you to try it out. It's been a long time since a game can make a SINGLE walking zombie a threat. A group of zombies will stop you in your tracks or make you turn around.

You can go into a sandbox and change the settings in Zomboid if you want an easier, harder, or a special kind of world. I like to give myself the "28 Days Later Challenge". Where every single zombie is a sprinter, and any scratch/bite will kill you in 30 seconds.

You will die. The game is about how far you can go to survive. You can die from dehydration, starvation, illness, wounds, eating bad food, etc.

Please give this game a chance if you like Zombie games.

Nightmare of Decay is a massive homage and a big love letter to the classic survival games from the 90s. If you grew up through the 80/90/00's then you will love some of the references this game has to offer. I won't dare spoil any of it but if you grew up playing games like Resident Evil on the Playstation then you'll enjoy this game.

It's really hard for me to say anything bad about this. You can tell the CheckMaty Dev team put a lot of love into this game. They included additional challenges and bonus content that you will be familiar with in the games they are inspired from. It doesn't feel like a last-minute thought.

This game won't have any groundbreaking elements in its story, gameplay, etc. But it doesn't have to. This game knows exactly what it is and gives you a great experience. It's a short game but I have zero bad experiences. It's a game that does a lot of things right. Its horror element is good. It can be suspenseful. And have some memorable moments.

This game is such a great change from the typical asset flip "horror" games that floods steam. For the old timers, it can give you a great nostalgic experience. And for younger people, it can be a good challenging experience.

Play it.
