Hi there, Josh's sister here.
His Bday is in a month (Jan 18) and given recent events of someone claiming that he's responsible for his death, or whatever edgy thing they wanna say, I guess it's time to clear things up on his passing.
He was born with one less chromosome in his body called DiGeorge syndrome, which resulted in a lifetime of medical issues such as an underdeveloped artery that didn't grow with his body, closed airway and an extra large heart. All his life he got multiple surgeries and contributed to the research being conducted at TorontoGen. This debilitating health issue often resulted in a short lifespan for its carriers, Josh being no exception.
His last day is forever seared in my brain... I witnessed firsthand how numbness took over and his body just shut down, lungs collapsing, while mom was in hysterics. I tried to calm her down while the 911 emergency dispatcher on the other side was getting irritated by her wailing while I begged for an ambulance. He was at the top of the staircase and practically falling down, making it difficult to perform CPR (also at the fault of the dispatcher's ignorance in instructions)
He lost his appetite the week of his bday, released himself early from the hospital, asked for special food but piled it high completely untouched and kept himself cooped up in his room. He often got annoyed and said he was fine, and didn't mention if he was hurting inside. It just kind of happened, silently, and over time.
If any one has any questions, feel free to contact me.
