I enjoy a lot about this game. It's fun to dive into the frontlines with your buddies and die over and over, making pushes and losing ground back and forth together while the chaos of local voice chat unfolds. It can be fun just drinking your morning coffee and running logistics in the background to help the war effort, or even be a front line logistics runner making sure the guys fighting the good fight are well supplied.

Very fun game if you go in with the right expectations

Soullash is a good game, despite what the rainbow mafia wants you to believe. If it has pronouns in its bio you can safely ignore its opinion.

This game is not runescape, if that's what your looking for you won't get that here.

That aside, even if you aren't looking for something akin to runescape this game is very very restrictive. I know it's early access, but even with the skeleton that I'm seeing right now I'm not sure what they can do to flesh this "MMO" out to be a fun and engaging experience to have with other people. Maybe by the end they will change my mind but a lot of changes will need to be made.

Each zone has its own skills, including combat. You can't carry over your equipment or combat levels from zone to zone. Why? What does this do to make the game more engaging / enjoyable? The skills are pretty barebones as well and don't seem to serve any sort of engaging purpose. I don't want to make too many comparisons to Runescape because again, this game doesn't seem like it's quite going for that but I think this is a good example. In RS your skills tend to compliment each other in some way, while so far in this game they all seem to be pretty exclusive. It seems like in zone 1 you unlock fishing because, well, runescape had fishing so we need to have fishing here.

The zones also feel confined, and most areas don't really have enough enemies in them for the amount of players that could potentially be fighting over those resources.

I want to like this game but it really does just feel very restrictive and mechanics are disconnected from each other. I'm not sure this is something they can remedy as this seems to be intentional design but maybe they will surprise me and I will change my mind in the future. Right now idk if I want to put more hours into this game when I have other rpgs I could be playing.

I love fishin' I love truckin' and I love ♥♥♥♥♥♥' Hell yeah brother give me one of them there dang ol' Coor's Lights and we'll have ourselves a hootin' tootin' time lemme tell yuh what I ain't never had no better a time than when I'm drinkin' a cold one with the boys with a line out in the water pullin' up some honkers, I'm not just talkin' about some largemouth bass neither nuhuh boy we got them sea fish too we gonna be catchin' some shark and marlin's out here too boy oh yeah that's right.

So far I think the remake has been mostly faithful. I say mostly because while I am enjoying it so far Capcom unfortunately gave this beautiful game a big fat wart on its nose. That being some of the unnecessary changes. So far the ones that bug me are the yellow paint in the first Carlito boss fight and the removal of the Erotica photos. You can be as dismissive as you want about this but it is a change that hurts the game for me, and reeks of blue haired freaks getting offended at humor. Also the new voice of Frank is good so far, but I do miss Mr. Rotolo. Brad's voice though, I'm on the fence about.

I will give this a tentative thumbs up with a warning to Capcom that they need to dial their blue haired freaks back in future projects before they put out another Dead Rising 4 level stinker.

Very fun game, kit bashing and finding good builds is incredibly fun and the fun is only amplified with your friends. Make the most schizo builds you can possibly imagine, put SD legs on your guncannon. Put 30 minute mission anime girl heads on your psycho zaku and name it the psycho waifu. The possibilities are endless.

Frankly (get it?) this game is an embarrassment to the franchise. It is clearly aimed towards people who did not like the franchise from the beginning and completely alienates fans of the originals. Core mechanics that made Dead Rising interesting were stripped away. No time limit. No alternate endings. No survivors to escort. No psychopaths. Frank West has had his character assassinated, this is not Frank. Capcom has failed to understand what made this franchise special, and has instead decided to try and turn it into a low tier comedy, when the comedic effects in the original were typically generated from player content. The player wearing a funny outfit or messing with zombies in an interesting way. Now they're trying to be funny in the most unfunny way. Callous jokes every other ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sentence, it's a joke. Granted this trend started as early as Dead Rising 2 but it has been amplified to a ridiculous degree every game since.

I am hopeful that the remaster of Dead Rising 1 will be a good reset for the franchise, but with all of the changes being made to placate the mythical "modern audience" I have my concerns that Capcom still doesn't understand this franchise which is a damn shame. Dead Rising deserves more than this.

Also before you think "You only have 2 hours in the game! You didn't play it!!!" I completed the game and the dlc on xbox when it came out. I picked it up on steam to give the game a second chance and still don't like it.

Game is fun and deserves a thumbs up simply for the invasion mode. Really fun way to play the game
