Hidden Folks is a fun, casual HOG with tonnes of charm and plenty of surprises hidden throughout.

Nina Freeman is a force to be reckoned with. She manages to tell a touching tale of first love through the ever changing desktop of a young woman as she meets and falls for a young man she met through an online game. The hidden treasures of Nina's thoughts and dreams are voyeristically on display for the perusal of the player and as I sifted through her folders, photos and messages and listened in on her conversations I learnt more about Nina and found myself smiling and cringing as her relationship evolved.

Although the game is quite short, the numerous story telling elements give the story more depth and flesh out Nina's background through blog entries, mail, photos, messages, voiceovers and video sequences. It is a well planned and excuted piece of story telling and I look forward to Nina's next release into to the gaming world.

Lumino City is beautiful adventure game where the player guides the hero, Lumi, on a quest to find her Grandad. But the true hero of the game is the stunningly crafted 3D world. Each new region is a pleasure to discover as the developers prioritise exploring the world rather than hearing everyones backstory, and the simple controls let you interact directly with the world itself. Lumi is tasked to solve a puzzle in each section of the world she enters to advance on her adventure which means you are constantly moving forward and not having to repeat or backtrack. The puzzles are intuitively logic and extremely tactile which minimises the trial and error puzzle solving seen in less thoughtful adventure games.

Greatly recommended for any fans of casual adventure games or beautiful indie developments.
