I hate Hunt. But sometimes it gives me the neuron activation so me like.

My first review didn't do this gem justice so here we go again.

This is, in my humble opinion, the best "Ace Combat" style of game there is. I did not expect to fall in love with this love letter to that franchise.

I might be biased because of how many times I've played the story over and over (7 times) but I actually think this the story is *chef's kiss* so good. It's not the black and white feeling I got from AC7 where there are good and bad guys. There are certainly bad guys here, but the main warring factions are mostly just grunts and you can hear several times, not only through your wingmen, how ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up the whole war is. You're not a good guy either per say. You're just a mercenary who just happens to be on one side of the war.

Your wingmen are interesting enough. I wish there would have been some more development of them but what's there is pretty good. Hearing Dip snap was one of my favorite moments in the game.
I need to address the "waifu WSO". I love Prez as much as the next guy, but she's a really, and i do mean really, minor character. Her lines that are there are super good, but there aren't that many of them. It's really sad that she doesn't have a bigger role. But having only 2-seaters would have limited the selection of aircraft.

Something I almost never pay attention to in games is the music. So trust me when I tell you that this soundtrack slaps. I can't think of another game where I've listened to the soundtrack outside of the actual game, much less added it to my Spotify. Showdown and Kings are just so perfect.

It's not perfect though. Here are some small issues I have:

Your allies, all of them, are pretty... bad. I don't have a problem with your character carrying the day, that's actually part of the story. But when you rack up 95% of all kills during a battle it takes me out of the whole "war" aspect a little bit. Especially the ground units. Not sure they're actually even able to kill other ground units.

A few lines of the voice acting is a bit iffy. Not often. And on that topic the subtitles are sometimes a bit off. A few words here and there. No biggie.

All I can say is, sequel when? I'd throw my money so hard.

Scary. But maybe not in the best way.

I just recently got into horror games after playing through Amnesia. This, to me, looked like a much scarier game and boy was I right. There were literally moments where I just gave up and instinctively protected myself. I'll be honest though, Outlast resorts to a lot of cheap tricks to scare you. There are plenty of jump scares, and some of them are actually "good" but it does get old. You'll also spend a lot of time being chased which is probably the worst ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ thing I know.

Unlike Amnesia there are very few moments were the game lets you be paranoid, which is a shame. There's almost always some kind of enemy present, and you'll have to avoid them as best you can. The problem is that if you fail a section a couple of times, it will no longer be scary but annoying. Avoiding the psycho or w/e will simply be a chore, to make it passed to the actual objective. I will say that this was mostly a problem later in the game. The first half was pretty good.

I'll admit that I didn't really follow the story. So I can't say much about it. Seemed kinda wonky. Maybe that's my own fault for not paying attention to it.

Overall it's a massively scary ♥♥♥♥♥ of a game. Way, way scarier than Amnesia. Unfortunately, it doesn't utilize the setting as much as I would've liked. More open sections with less enemies just to build paranoia would have been nice. I think the game, despite being short, hit a good length. I was pretty exhausted at the end.

Although it's not the best or most fun horror game I've played, I'll still recommend it just because of how much this game made me ♥♥♥♥ myself, because it's definitely the scariest one I've played.

I hate scary stuff. Especially scary games. Because of some extreme boredom I let my friends know how I felt about these kinds of games, after which they told me I should buy this, and stream it for them to watch. So I did.

7 hours later I'm quite pleased. The game, isn't actually THAT scary. Yes, there were times when bricks were shat but most of the time there's simply nothing to be afraid of, but because I didn't know that, I was always on edge, which was rather fun. The story is better than expected although I didn't fully follow. Visually the game somewhat holds up 10 years later, that may also be thanks to the pretty good aesthetic.

There are a lot of puzzles which I enjoyed but they can be incredibly vague and it's actually a miracle that I only had to look up what to do twice. A lot of times I tried stuff that would never work in other games, but Amnesia says ♥♥♥♥ that, it doesn't follow rules. See that slightly damaged wall? Throw a chair at it so it collapses. Try stupid things, and you'll find the answer to a lot of them.

Overall, I'm happy I played it. Definitely got me into more scary games. And so far, it's the best I've played of them.

I was super skeptical when CK3 was first announced. I didn't think CK2 needed an upgrade and I didn't really see how it would be done. I'm happy to say I was wrong.

This is probably the strongest launch of a Paradox game to date. No, it's not perfect, it has bugs, it has some balancing issues, but this is nothing that won't be sorted out fairly fast.

It does admittedly feel a bit empty compared to Ck2 with all it's DLC but not even close to how empty I thought I'd be. There's still plenty of stuff here to keep us entertained.

Overall I'd say this is a very solid base to build upon. Well done to Paradox for releasing a game that isn't an empty husk at launch.

This game makes me a bit sad. I was a huge fan of the first two metro games, especially the first one. The setting along with the terror-action vibe it had. So it saddens me that Metro has become more of a shooter over the years. The little details that made the first one special has slowly been diluted with a bunch of generic stuff.

I'm actually a bit surprised at how many people like the game. But then again it's clearly a game made for a wider audience this time, and it seems to have worked out. This is just my opinion.

My first big gripe is the setting. It's a Metro game, but it's not set in the Metro. For some people this probably seems interesting, seeing the rest of the world outside of the Moscow Metro, but for me that setting is what made the previous two games so interesting. The open levels when you wandered the tunnels alone in the first two games are some of my favorite moments of the franchise. Not to mention that going above felt so special because of how dangerous it was.
In Exodus that tension is almost completely gone. There are a few select moments (which all take place underground btw) that still make you feel that claustrophobic goodness of the first games, but most of the time is spend on the safe surface not doing, or worrying about much.

The different places that you go to are nice to look at for the most part, but it does get old searching through similar looking buildings for scraps that you use for the obligatory modern game crafting system... In the end I just went from mission to mission, not bothering to scavange anymore.

The story isn't much to talk about, that has never been a strong part of the Metro games in my opinion and this one is about on par with Last Light, so not exactly good, but not bad. Also, the voice acting is worse than ever. It's actually cringy. A word I hate to use but listening to some of these dialogues was painful.

The game is also plagued by the same moral choices that you faces in the first two games. Killing people = bad ending. No fun allowed. Hyperbole aside, it is better than in the first two games, but feeling restricted just because you want to get the good ending has never seemed like a good idea to me. Special objectives? Sure! But asking people to not shoot stuff when we got all these lovely weapons is such a sin.

We need to talk about the bugs as well. I thought, that after a year on Epic, that it would be pretty polished by the time it got to Steam. But no. In the 16-ish hours I've played I've had somewhere around 10 crashes, and too many in game bugs to count. Small stuff that doesn't bother me, to me getting stuck on the terrain, or in the middle of a mission, camera losing alingment in certain situations and more. Really disappointing.

Overall Metro Exodus takes away what I liked most about the first two games, that being the Metro. It has it's enjoyable moments, but the weak story, uninteresting cast, bad VA, bland enviroments, just makes it feel like so many other games out there today. It has lost the special flavour that the Metro games once had. I can only hope that they bring the franchise back into the tunnels, and maybe slope the linear storytelling for a more open experience. I think an open world game set in the Metro could work really well. Fingers crossed.

You can create a drug empire and use the profits to make a cyborg warrior in plasteel plate mail just to kill an elephant giraffe mutant, harvest it's tusk thing, then wield the horn to murder the creature's children.

You can breed exploding possum monsters and force them to clog up the kill zones so when invaders come you can set off a chain of exploding vermin. You can take the crippled survivors and stitch their fallen comrades eyes and limbs onto them, nurse them back to health, then release them and their people will thank you.

And if they don't pull through you just harvest their skin and make some furniure out of it so the next prisoner gets to sleep in a bed made of the skin of his fallen comrads.

Legit one of the hardest games I've ever played. Why is it hard? Because it's so unforgiving.

You want to drive a bit reckless just for fun with that car you just spent two hours building? Oh you crashed and died. Too bad. Start over. Some idiot just rear ended you? Start over. You're out of food and ran out of gas on your way to the store and starved? Start over. Repeat until ragequit.

Despite this it's something satisfying about this game, building your car. Upgrading it. Actually starting it for the first time reminds me of the first time i built a computer irl. It did start, didn't run for very long though.
