I have never reviewed a game here before but the shear asinine ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ being spewed out here has motivated me to do so.

TLDR; $50 AUD for a fully fledged game, great gamemodes, incredible combat, tight customisation balance, incredible sounds and score and not a damn microtransaction in sight.

You can read a more in depth pros and ♥♥♥♥ in other reviews but I'll just quickly say it's 100% worth asking price. So let me address some of the common complaints quickly.

A difficult binding interface? They mean a binding interface more complicated than "I press this button the gun goes bbbbrrrrrrr". Play Freelancer, play Elite Dangerous, play EvE. THAT is a tricky binding experience, take a little time, get the controls just how you like them and experiment a bit. View it like setting up your cockpit just right and enjoy.

Crashes/connectivity issues. Over a group of 10+ mates from Australia we have not had a SINGLE issue. If you have that's fine but don't go spewing "WORST GAME 2020 SQUADRONS APPROVED BY TRUMP". It is not rushed, it is not broken. It works great and feels great.

The menu is a little slow to respond I'll give the naysayers that but my god if that's the ONLY issue I get in a new release these days I'll bloody well take it. If they wanted the menu to be an old DOS system I wouldn't give a damn if it gave me the rest of this game.

In addition to the above;

There's not a single microtransaction in a game that could be full to the brim with them. There are helmets, outfits, ship skins, holograms, fuzzy dice etc etc. The cosmetics have the works and the ONLY way to get it is sheer skill and gameplay. If that doesn't rustle your jimmies I'm fairly sure you're dead inside.

The single best, most actualised space combat sim I have ever played. Everything I have wanted since playing the original Freelancer. If they keep up with gamemodes and seasons (every indication they are doing that) this will be a freaking gift to the gaming community.

Ignore the hate, it's people being stupid for the sake of it. Download this game to experience the sheer thrill of the best space combat around.
