Commendable that they walked back on the forced PSN integration

It doesn't work and given colossal orders track record, it will never work.

Early Access Review
This is a prime example how greed and ignorance ruined a somewhat decent game. The devs refuse to listen to people who have more than 2000 hours clocked in, removing good features and making acquiring parts more and more difficult. Because they removed levelgating players, and apparently any sort of matchmaking too, the game is hell for players who dont have the expensive weapons. What we are left with is pay to win legendary turrets strapped to singe block with some hover blades stuck to it destroying everything else, since nowaday the turret alone counts as a robot and can upon losing its paltform still shoot and survive multiple top tier railgun hits. I would have said they should name this to 'Credit card wars', but since the latest extortion scheme they introduced, you have to gamble for building parts.

This is like the "i wanna be the guy" of first person shooters. The game really tries to ♥♥♥♥ you over. It's one of those old games that are hard for all the wrong reasons. A lot of the levels, like the aircraft carrier one, are based trial and error. Imageine a complex, three-dimensional space littered with every nook and cranny filled with overly cafinated, paranoid, superhuman soldiers ready to shoot you in a femtosecond from appearing in their field of view. You just try again and again until you learn all the spots the enemies spawn in, and formulate the most efficient way to kill them while minimizing the damage you take and the ammo you use. Alot of the times this involves shooting guys from two miles away at the edge of the draw distance so they dont aggro you back, or driving a vehicles with a mounted gun to stupid places so you can cheese the upcoming section that you were supposed to confront on foot. The game is a fun challenge, because you have to out-♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ the game's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It was fun while it lasted, but the devs are clearly just trying to churn in money with the gameplay experience coming second. Even though the game is Co-op vs AI, i find it dispicable that some of the DLC is almost mandatory, DLC grenades just of two AOE clearing devices you wouldnt otherwise get, some of the AMCAR stealth build parts come from dlc, not to mention the armor penetrating DLC sniper tarantos that lets you shoot trough riot shields. The DLC weapons that arent mandatory are just never used filler garbage whose only purpose is to justify the given price of the one weapon from the dlc that you need. So, Overkill isnt really bothered by the inharent unbalance of the game, they will just make one weapon that is better than any of the other counterparts for a DLC. And now they offer stat boosting weapons skins that you have to pay to acquire. You could buy this game, but Overkill is likely to screw you over by countiniously releasing better weapons that you have to pay for.
