LiEat is an underpriced gem. It's really three small games in one, tied together by common characters and a few other details. Each game takes maybe an hour and a half at most to play, so it's certainly short. It has some RPG mechanics, but the combat is (possibly intentionally) fairly one-dimensional. Doors have functional but interesting, or more specifically large, hitboxes. Despite sounding those all sounding like bad characteristics, none of these detracted from what LiEat seemed to be doing and none of them bothered my enjoyment of it.

What LiEat brings to the table, and what caught my attention through all three parts, is a game full of charm. The mechanical and plot choices help present itself this way, making for a game that coheres with its stylistic choices. I never felt like the game was too wordy, yet I found myself repeatedly amused by item descriptions, invested in every character with a portrait I met, and sincerely trying to guess what the next piece of the story would be. The music was pleasant and atomospheric as needed. The game has a built in difficulty setting, if for some reason you want the combat to feel a little more on edge, that felt more organic than most games, where easy/normal/hard is often just thrown in settings somewhere.

All in all, if you're looking for a cute story, some well built characters, and nice music, this is a game worth playing. At a mere three bux, this game earns its price easily.
