OR, the reviews are from literal children who want to be contrarian and want to "stick it to the past fanbase" by acting like any criticism is somehow hateful ranting and should be ignored. They don't care about the price-scheme of the game and DLCs since they get their money from their parents, so fair prices mean nothing to them.
Thing is, real fans of the franchise criticize the game due to wanting things to get better...we don't want to settle, we don't want to have to wait another 5 to 10 years to get a good civ game again. Positive reviews don't help anyone, all it does is tell them that they can continue to not do anything to address the real issues the game has.
But the Most important reason i recommend is because im charging you $100 to take a look to see whats inside !!!!
