Okey, so I want to recommend this game because it really is beautiful and alot of fun at first, but I can't. If it's on sale, yeah sure. For the full asking price, no. The game is fairly buggy, has the stupidest G-Force system I've seen which doesn't work unless it's obvious you're going to fall off your board/skies. I was literally going 1km/h trying to get out of an area. The surface was flat. Out of nowhere the G-Force bar goes to half, then to the bottom.

Also, exploration.

Exploration is great and all, but having drop zones which you HAVE to explore to get new challenges sort of takes away the fun part about exploration. It becomes a mission rather than something which could've been so enjoyable because of the amazing and scenic map.

It's also hard. In a bad way.

Of course games should be challenging, but having to look up guides over how you complete a event, is not okay. Having to retry up to 200 times+ (literally) just to find a good enough line and hope the G-Force RNG doesn't screw you over, isn't alright either.
The funny thing is though, some hard events are easier than most easy events, and so goes for medium events. But some medium events are also harder than most hard events. For example, Kitchik racers in Alaska. It's a medium race. After about 100 tries, I managed to make it by 0,1 sec (literally). I had to look up youtube videos of people doing it. When looking at the videos, people were thanking the uploader for showing them THE line to take in order to complete the event.

It also doesn't introduce you to much either.

You get to learn how to do the basic tricks with the left stick (controller) and that's about it. After about 5-6 hours of gameplay I realised you're able to use the right stick as well for many other variations of tricks.
Nor does it introduce you to gaining score very much. I did an medium event and was stuck on it for so long because you were supposed to follow the top of the mountain (which was really pointy), and at the same time score the best. After a while, I realised, just riding along the very top also gives points.
Same goes for riding in the forest. I was trying my best to score points but it was practically impossible. I thought back of the previous time on the mountain, and started riding normally through the tree's. Bingo, points started popping up for each tree I avoided basically.
I also managed to discover that grinding was a thing through my own gameplay.

Music.

So it has a couple of good soundtracks. A couple. Rest is utter garbage and changes from genre to genre basically. I'm also pretty sure it's played in random order, because I heard the same song 3 times within 15 minutes.
A skip song button would be perfect.

Moving around.

Walking/Running is a joke. Sure it's realistic but you literally get nowhere. You can spend 5 minutes running to a place which would've taken you 15 seconds on skies or a board. And hey, you trying to get up a hill? Well have fun spending your 5 minutes, if you don't wanna rocket yourself out of there, to then turn around and try to get closer. Remember to pull your chute at the right time, because that thing takes you pretty much nowhere but down.

Snowboarding and skiing is fine as long as it goes downwards. If you're trying to get over a super small little bump in order to reach a checkpoint, the games going to tell you no, and send you backwards instead. Of course that's realistic and all, but is this supposed to be a simulator? When doing a race and getting that wrong line by mistake, it feels so unforgiving to not be able to save that in any way possible.

Paragliding is honestly really boring. You do literally nothing except steer your character close to mountain walls.

Wingsuiting and rocketing is pretty fun. Controls are good and it's fairly fun.

Rest I haven't tried.

And lastly, spending money.

Steep allows you to buy a season pass, different DLC's and stuff for real money. I was so close to do so, but I took a look at the reviews and saw people say you can buy the stuff ingame for ingame currency. So I went ingame and looked, and surely you can buy pretty much everything except the Asia DLC.
What's the point of having a season pass if everything is available ingame anyways? And it's not like it's that expensive really either.

Overall, it's a great game with huge potential. You can have alot of fun in it, but it's no game I'd ever recommend for any of my friends due to pretty much everything stated above.

One of the greatest survival games I've played. When being outside in the game, you feel a bit chilly. When you're wading through a snow storm, you get the feeling as if you have to push yourself through it, whilst being behind the screen. When you're inside, infront of a fire and can hear the absolute indredible ambiet sound of a snow storm going on outside, you feel comfortable. When you're running low on supply's, you start to plan your trip to get more.

So, there's really not that much more to say about it. The game gives you a journey, and it's truly amazing. Not to mention the incredible artistic choice of graphics and texture, as well as the amazing and beautiful landscape.

if your computer can run it, this is definently a game worth getting. it's not one of those games you can play for hours upon hours, but it's a game you can start at pretty much any moment and enjoy the incredible physics engine for an hour or so.

definently not recommended. literally the only fun part is promod and movie making. the coding is sloppy, and you can easily mess something up which causes you to reinstall the game. punkbuster doesn't support their servers anymore, so to play on legit servers you actually have to find a working pb folder on the net, and download it. it's just extra work which shouldn't be there. the game is one of the easiest games to crack, and 80% of all servers accepts cracked clients. 25 bucks for this is just retarded. if you're planning to play this game, crack it. there's no point in wasting your money when it's that easy to crack.
